Everyone on this list discussing this topic should be banned by valve from
the list.

Valve did not intend the servers to support 32 players nor do they condone
it.

Please stop discussing this issue on this public list, take it to a private
list or site.

Thank you.

YA! What he said!

  Well put my friend.

I can't wait until they nuke those servers. I'm tired of trying to run a
legit server and having to keep up with the 32 player stalemate
 machines.
Since our servers don't show up at the top of the list in player count,
 it's
not quite so easy keeping it full. Luckily, having a community helps
 quite a
bit in that matter, but still, numbers are starting to dwindle now,
especially in the late hours of the night due to losing some players to
interest in TF2, and having to compete with 32 player servers for new
  regular players is really irritating.

Why not just setup 2x 24's instead of a 32? That's a lot more prudent,
seeing as the game was designed for 24 players (note: balance) and then,
 you
don't have a stalemate all the time. It's a win/win situation. Then, you
have two servers, which means more new players, and then you don't have
 to
worry about getting a cracked binary every time a new version of TF2
deploys. You can be online as soon as it comes out like the rest of us
 still
  running 24.

They can stop you if they want to Mike, and quite frankly they should
have done so a long time ago. You ruin things for honest hard working
server admins that are not willing to use dirty methods such as using
hacked server dll's to keep up.

I believe they do plan to put an end to it - and hopefully it will
  happen soon.

From what I understand valve does not support 32 players in TF2.
We can mod the servers to allow 32players and valve knows we do this.
They don't stop us from doing this. They even fixed the NULLNAME
issue with the 32'nd player. Every time valve does a update we have
to race around and find/make a new engine.dll. I know that 32 players
is NOT supported in the game TF2 but my question to valve is.. At some
point are you going to allow us to run 32 player servers or are we

  always

going to have to mod the engine.dll forever?

What are you talking about? The current games are running on the new engine.
Source is Source is Source is Source. There is not an OLD source engine, or
a NEW source engine.. its just all the SAME source engine.

Yes, I know it's still very far away, but I was just wondering if we could
get a comment on a VERY rough estimate of when we may expect to see current
source games ported to the new engine? A week, a month, a year? Just wanna
have some sort of idea when I should start planning :)

 Thanks

The orangebox engine is the new source engine.
The older source games (css, dods, hl2dm etc.) will be ported some
weeks/months later to this new engine release.
 So just be patient :)

  Hello,

is the Orange Box Engine the NEW Source Engine, or is it only a Custom
  Engine for other Games?

Please explain me, what are the new engine for?
