Nice try, but the new dedicated server app ids in question won't display on that API's output. They are marked as ownersonly (not public) and aren't owned by the package that all accounts get (0), nor even the packages that include those games' clients. The only package that has them is the one used exclusively by anonymous login (17906). To clarify, first I've used the appid 232290 for cheicking version via steamapi. Our update script runs every 10 minutes. Then you have deleted this appid for online check, pulled out an updated. Now we have to use 300 to check our servers, but update with 232290. We have had two existing to tell if the server needed to restart:
* Source engine servers know that they are out of date and can be told to shut
down at appropriate times.
* The up-to-date WebAPI can be polled by an external process.
