2014-12-09 Thread Nitika
Hi all,

Many thanks for congratulating me to start off working on this project !

I'm going to start a new thread on the Mailing list to discuss the design
for the tasking manager homepage with the community members.

@ aithio forum: The internship is of 13 weeks starting from December 9,
2014 till March 9, 2015.

@ Kate Chapman: yes, We can schedule an initial meeting on the IRC channel
or group conversation on Gtalk. Though I'm in the GMT+5:30 timezone, I'm
available in the evening time but Please inform me about the time for the
meeting to be scheduled.

Best Regards,
Nitika

 Hi Nitika,

Pierre and I have decided to co-mentor you. We figured it would be best to
make sure any assistance you need is covered. Pierre is the right person
for any technical programming questions about the Tasking Manager, but I
 can help with anything else.

Perhaps we should schedule an initial meeting? What is everyone's
availability this week? I'm in Jakarta until the 20th, easiest for me would
be evening-time for me and afternoon for the both of you.

Hi Nitika,

Like Mark, Pierre and Sev, just like to thank you in advance for the work
you are undertaking on this instrumental coordination tool ; kudos as well
to Pierre for his mentoring. Really nice and exemplary to see such
mentored-dev work on the HOT project's tools happening in support of both
Drazen and the dev community we are trying to build around each of those
tools and services.

Excellent day and excellent work !

Looking forward to see the results and available to be part of the
working group on this if there is one planned to provide feedback.

A temporary WG is a really good idea. I hope there is some way there can
be interaction between Nitika, pgiraud and people who are very
interested in how the Tasking Manager is presented from a usability
perspective or very interested for other reasons.

Congratulations again Nitika!

Best wishes,

Re: [HOT] Getting Introduced to the OpenStreetMap Community

2014-12-08 Thread althio forum
Hi HOT and welcome Nikita!

Blake just gave me a nice pointer to you and your internship.
I was giving off some of my thoughts for user interface and wording
for TM2 on
https://github.com/hotosm/osm-tasking-manager2/issues/484#issuecomment-66126793
and he mentioned you. So thanks Blake!

My ideas on UI are certainly outside the initial scope of your
internship though.
You will be focusing on homepage, search and display as I understand.

Nonetheless I hope you will be able to discuss collaboratively with
the interested individuals on github and other tools (hackpads?) .

I trust that yourself and your mentor will make some pretty
improvements to our beloved Task Manager.

A question to wrap up:
How long is your internship?

All the best,

althio
