Manage projects with moderate complexity that may be broad in scope with a
broad customer base, addressing multiple functional areas across multiple
organizational domains, involving medium size teams with a reporting
hierarchy.
• Responsible for developing the project resource plan, forecast and
budget. Ensure that the project remains within the project budget
throughout the project life cycle.
• Understand and influence decision making processes and cost/time/quality
impacts to a project. Ensure cross-functional IT and business areas are
involved as appropriate.
• Establish project success criteria and determine the degree to which the
project achieved the objectives. Responsible for creating and maintaining
project schedules.
• Manage scope, issues, constraints, risks, assumptions and change control
process throughout the project life cycle. Track and report project
progress and status. Initiate escalation of issues as appropriate to ensure
timely resolution.
• Ensure the successful migration to production (technical and business
processes) and the development of an on-going support plan. Responsible for
project team’s adherence to and compliance with IT Standards, processes and
tools (i.e. the Symantec project methodology, SOX, etc.). May lead and
contribute to key project lessons learned to improve internal project
management processes.
• Deliver to management and may lead identified gaps or follow-on efforts
relative to overall continuous improvement within the Symantec project
methodology, functional units, etc. Coach and contribute to the expertise
of other project managers. Encourage the use of best practices.

Responsibilities

   Establishes and implements project management processes and
   methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on
   time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer
   expectations
   Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments,
   directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying
   resource needs, performing quality review: and escalating functional.

Required Skills

   Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business
   Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
   Project Management certification or successful completion of a
   recognized project management curriculum is preferred.
   Advanced ability to oversee and manage large, complex, diverse and
   strategic projects that impact the organization as a whole.
   Advanced understanding and ability to manage complex program and project
   budgets
   Advanced ability in implementing program and project plans, monitoring
   progress, resource usage and quality
   Advanced knowledge in conducting risk assessments and developing plans
   for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified



Business Experience

   7 to 10 years of IT work experience
   5 years managing projects



Wants

   Highly prefer PM experience with major process changes;
   Highly prefer PM experience with complex corporate-wide organization
   behavior change and communications;
   Clarity Portfolio Project Management tool experience a plus;
   Open Work Bench project management tool a plus;
   Base understanding of SOP98 (investments and expense categorization) is
   a plus.
