One important piece of information : because I have a (close to)
4K display, I set the scaling to 200%. If I set it to 100%, all
those issues disappear.

That's the culprit. wxWidgets does automatically scale the bitmap
with this factor - so the preview size increases.

It should now be fixed in the repository.

I just saw that I hadn't set the sharing correctly. I fixed it now,
everyone should be able to see the screenshots if they are interested.

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: Simple UI improvement suggestion (correct exposures and colors)

2023-12-16 Thread Gunter Königsmann
For my microscope a few months back I bought a (cheap) astronomical camera that
uses a Bayer array: the microscope produces an intermediate image with parallel
rays that then is viewed using a telescope and since light constantly rips
electrons from chemical bonds and therefore much light eventually kills what
you are looking at one needs a camera that is able to deal with dim light. I
guess astronomical devices should not spontaneously change the spectrum of
their colour filters between two measurements, though.

But last night I remembered something different:
I once had a camera that had not a bad pixel, but a bad spot that wasn't big -
but caused the photometric optimization to go wild: In one picture there was a
gray spot where in the next picture was red, green, blue or something else.

Kind regards,

  Gunter.

My first idea was to install the latest version, which I did. Same
results. Then I tried to reset the parameters, no improvement. I
have found the workaround, but is there a way for me to fix this?

sorry for answering so late. But I have no idea what could cause these
issue. The size of these panes is coded in the xrc file. There could
be some dynamic adjustment to adapt to different window size / display
resolution.
So my initial idea would be to reinstall the version (but this you did
already).
So maybe deleting the stored window size in registry. Close Hugin,
start regedit, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\hugin and delete
the folder MainFrame. The close regedit and restart Hugin.

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for answering. I tried your suggestion, same issue. I
uninstalled Hugin and reinstalled it, same issue. I uninstalled Hugin,
deleted HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\hugin and reinstalled Hugin, same issue.

So I did some other tests. If I run Hugin in a very small window (
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NLLtQMiWyfcUHa60tUNmUQ4ZAUfyE3NX/view
), when I load an existing project (
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lD7Jgy9PDNLpWTP6FvZa99P5jwWalLh4/view
), the contents stay in place. But as soon as I select one photo in the
list, Hugin changes the proportions of the elements inside the window (
https://drive.google.com/file/d/13CikIQ0OP8Zx6adtRoM-NditSHNjSWIL/view
). I can increase the height of Hugin's window until I get this result (
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NsCbff1C2xNvFIJU5HBWf3IZuUJ569as/view
). Then I can change the selected picture, and Hugin won't do anything
strange, as long as I don't change the window size.

But if I increase Hugin's window width to about this
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MjsrX5g-sjVgkqVUzTfw3M6uQarOnrCC/view ,
when I change again the selected photo, I get this
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vMd0kU818nKWnx5j4MSKKM0ycW_VDiAn/view

I don't know anything about the tools you use to create Hugin, but
couldn't you specify minimum dimensions for some elements? Or could you
give the user "handles" to allow him to set the proportions as he wants?

One important piece of information : because I have a (close to) 4K
display, I set the scaling to 200%. If I set it to 100%, all those
issues disappear.
