I think the first ones to hit the street will be: ASUS N61Jv / N71Jv / N82Jv / UL50Vf There is now one Linux user who with a ASUS N71Jv. I contacted him and asked for a DSDT.dsl file: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1420377 airlied and mjg59, can I ask you what sort of info could be useful for developers to have Nvidia Optimus working in Linux? [Hybrid-graphics-linux] NVidia Optimus and Asus U30JC
Hello, I'm planning to buy an Asus U30JC-QX022X with NVidia Optimus. It has an integrated Intel chipset combined with a GeForce 310M discrete adapter. Now here comes a question: Does the Linux Hybrid Graphics project intend to support NVidia and Optimus or is it specialized in ATI adapters? If Optimus support is planned, I will (of course) provide all the data I'm asked for as soon as I get the laptop. :-) Andrej P. S. FTR, a couple of links on Optimus. It is (probably) possible to run the adapters separately, without the switching capabilities. Not the ideal solution, but a good temporary workaround. Using the Intel adapter on a laptop with Optimus: Thread: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/notebook-mit-nvidia-optimus-will-nicht-schoen/ Wiki: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Baustelle/nVidia_Optimus Running the NVidia adapter should be possible in the near future: Thread: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=148006 smime.p7s Description: S/MIME Cryptographic Signature ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~hybrid-graphics-linux Post to : hybrid-graphics-linux@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~hybrid-graphics-linux More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
