Re: [IAEP] Parichay Parivesh Leeds Metropolitan University, UK
Parichay, Flash is not the best option to develop games for the XO. The XO does include something call Gnash, which supports some of what Flash can do but not everything. Another thing to consider is that an Activity on the XO (or running under Sugar) is more than the kind of self contained programs you could make with Flash. A good game under Sugar can be played by more than one person at the same time. These Shared Activities are a big part of what Sugar is all about. I am writing a book on developing Sugar Activities which should be of use to you. A recent draft is at: http://objavi.flossmanuals.net/books/ActivitiesGuideSugar-en-2010.02.15-18.18.25.pdf I have asked for the book to be published and linked to the Read page at flossmanuals.net. When that happens (later today, I hope) this will be newer than the PDF. The PDF should be adequate to get you started. Thanks Tony I had missed that when I skimmed it. There is lots of evidence, including common sense, for the importance of increased learning time. Study for Chile. PISA Results 2006 Martha Kluttig Claudia Peirano Constanza Vergara There is a low, significant and positive effect of the use of computers at home regarding school achievement. Furthermore, the frequent use of the computer at home impacts positively learning in science. The relation between frequency of use and achievement hides a differentiated relation regarding to the type of task performed with the computer. We haven't found concluding evidence to establish that having more computers available at school has impact on the performance of the students. ___ IAEP -- It's An Education Project (not a laptop project!) Re: [IAEP] TED - Alan Kay - Example(8:44)
Yes, this is what I did. I just used the ability to turn and move objects (and to move their centers of rotation -- as you saw). If you look under scripting you will see script tiles for starting and stopping looping scripts I used the B square as a button for starting each motion Cheers, Alan From: Pato Acevedo patitoacev...@hotmail.com To: iaep@lists.sugarlabs.org Sent: Mon, February 22, 2010 11:03:03 AM Subject: [IAEP] TED - Alan Kay - Example(8:44) Hi: This my response for original question, how to make a animation like Alan Kay showed in TED? http://patricioacevedo.blogspot.com/2010/02/help-for-etoys.html Pato Acevedo Hotmail es confiable.
