A reasonable start is SMF 78-2 (RMF Virtual Storage report) which will at 
least give you the dynamics and the key - both for CSA and ECSA. For one 
you need to understand if this is a regular occurrence or just a rarity.

ECSA usage - Clarification

Hi All,

My RMF workflow/exception monitorning Snap Shot showed the below
information.

-- Exceptions
-
Name   ReasonCritical val. Possible cause or
action
*ECSA* SECS%  70 73.3 %   System ECSA usage 73 %.

Version : Z/OS 1.12
Could anyone please suggest me how to identify the resource which are
consuming more ECSA.
