Sorted. The problem was a mismatch between the console definitions. The
CEE3739I message is the last one displayed on the NIP console and the system
then couldn't find a system console.

Maybe it is related to unicode?

Sounds like a good guess. There is only 2/100 of a second different
 between
the CEE3739I and CUN2046I in the syslog for my sandbox that I just checked.

 Can you take a SADUMP?

First ipl of z/OS 1.9

2009-06-10 Thread Jim McAlpine
I'm trying to ipl the z/OS 1.9 ADCD on a FLEX-ES box for the first time and
getting as
far as -

CEE3739I LANGUAGE ENVIRONMENT INITIALIZATION COMPLETE

A display of the psw shows -

PSW = 0706      (000a  unknown instruction)

Apparently, this is not a known FLEX problem.
Any ideas why I'm getting the psw shown above.

No work wait.

What happens when you issue a command?

Should you use the mailblocks package and expect a response from me,
you should preauthorize the dissensoftware.com domain.

I very rarely bother responding to challenge/response systems,
especially those from irresponsible companies.

I can't. If I hit enter on the console, I get X CLOCK and the console
input is inhibited.

SNIP

And if you hit the restart button or Extern Interrupt button, what
happens?

Not having used one of those systems, do you have a logical NIP console?
And what does it show, if anything?

Steve Thompson
