Maximum VOLUMES in STORAGE GROUP

2006-10-06 Thread Lester, Bob
Hi All,

I've read TFM and have also done a bit of searching on this, but no
joy.

Is there a maximum number of volumes that can belong to a storage
group? I've got about 1200 mixed mod3's and mod9's in a storage group
and wonder if I'm getting close to a limit. z/OS 1.4 and z/OS 1.7
environments.

Thanks

*BobL*

I didn't find an answer, but I did take a storage group definition to 2200
volume before getting tired of adding 100 at a time - an ISMF panel
limitation. The suffix field in the panels is 6 digits, so perhaps the
limit is simply the system limit of 65536 devices?
