I take it you have seen this note in the PSP bucket: SERVERPAC Customers --- If you have received File Manager on ServerPac, you will have received all English fmids, regardless of whether you want them all or not. This can cause problems when applying service to File Manager, particularly if you have received File Manager/IMS and you do not have the IMS product installed. In this case, delete any dependent File Manager fmids that you do not want, when the ServerPac is first installed, and before any subsequent service is applied to File Manager. You can use the sample jobs described in the File Manager Customization Guide Appendix E, "Removing File Manager", to do this. Deleting the File Manager/DB2 or File Manager/IMS fmids will not delete any parts from the File Manager base function, nor affect the functioning of the File Manager base function in any way. UK32210 and IMS
I'm trying to apply UK32210 (and req's ...208, 209, 211). This is PTF for FileManager 8.1 - which was delivered as part of ServerPac (z/OS 1.9). The order does NOT include IMS, nor any IMS system exist in the neighbourhood. The same could happen for CICS, but it's not. The problem is the PTF above wants to access modules from SDFSRESL, which is non-existent. The PTF is NOT for FM/IMS. According to description it is for FM and FM/DB2. Q: How can I apply the PTF without SDFSRESL library ??? Should I borrow one, just for CALLLIBS processing ? BTW: IMHO it's nonsense and annoying to provide "dummy library name" in DDDEFs for non-existent libraries, like CICS SDFHLOAD or SDFSRESL. It's being done by ServerPac installation process.
