Liberty_zos
i have a third party product I want to test and it can use liberty_zos. Since we have liberty_zos with z/OS 2.4 i thought I would try that. I did not have much luck and then found an article that says the liberty_zos that comes with z/OS 2.4 is a base element called liberty_zos embedded and is only for IBM products. First, is that correct that I can't use it to test my third party product? Second, how do I get a copy of liberty_zos that I can use? does it need a license or cost money? Thanks in advance. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
remove bad GDG entry from GDG base
We need to remove a GDG entry from a GDG base, but the catalog entry doesn't exist. What happened was that during the creation of the GDG (PTP.DP.TRMS.ARCH999.X3.G0308V00) the user catalog filled up and could not extend. We received IEC331I 020-000. error message on this. We corrected the catalog space issue, but the PTP.DP.TRMS.ARCH999.X3 GDG base has the G0308V00 GDG associated with it, but there is no catalog entry for G0308V00. if you do a LISTCAT ALL ENTRY(PTP.DP.TRMS.ARCH999.X3) this is what you get. multiple certificates and certificate expiration
We are running AT-TLS and have a keyring with a certifcate that is about to expire. we have gotten a new certificate and added it to the keyring, but not as the default. The question I have is if we leave the old certificate in the keyring as the default, when it expires will AT-TLS start using the new certificate even thought it is not marked as the default? -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
Protect-ALL Fail issuing Warning messages
We are running FDR/ABR and using it to backup our sandbox lpar volumes from our production lpar. We have been doing this for a long time and every so often we get new data sets on the sandbox system that do not have a RACF data set profile on the production lpar. we do not share RACF database across lpars. So we get messages like this ICH408I USER(fakeid ) GROUP(fakegrp) NAME(fakename ) ICM.SICMLOD2 CL(DATASET ) VOL(ZOSDR1) WARNING: RESOURCE NOT PROTECTED ACCESS INTENT(READ ) ACCESS ALLOWED(READ ) We then define a RACF dataset profile, in this case ICM.* to protect the datasets. However, today someone pointed out that if you display our SETROPTS we have PROTECT-ALL IS ACTIVE, CURRENT OPTIONS: PROTECT-ALL FAIL OPTION IS IN EFFECT So now my question is how can we be getting WARNING messages, when PROTECT-ALL FAIL is active? -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN

Block response to message IEF455D
When message IEF455D appears to mount a tape it also has OR REPLY 'NO'. I want to limit who can reply 'no' to that message. We do not have any automation software so I would need to do this with a MPF exit, RACF OPERCMD profile, or something?I was just wondering what my options might be and how others may have handled this. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
WLM Sub-rule question?
We do not do much WLM work, but we need to make a change to the DDF Subsystem. We currently have two DDF subsystems defined, one for test and one for production. We have them defined as follows Subsystem Type . : DDF Fold qualifier names? Y (Y or N) Description . . . DB2 Distributed Transactions Action codes: A=After C=CopyM=Move I=Insert rule B=BeforeD=Delete row R=Repeat IS=Insert Sub-rule More === Qualifier ---Class ActionType Name StartService Report DEFAULTS: BATCH RDDF 1 SI DSNT ___ TSOPRD RDDF 1 SI DSNA ___ TSOPRD RDDF Now we have a SQL/J request that is coming though DDF, but it needs a much higher service class. So what I think I need to do is to define a sub-rule using the Authid as follows Subsystem Type . : DDF Fold qualifier names? Y (Y or N) Description . . . DB2 Distributed Transactions Action codes: A=After C=CopyM=Move I=Insert rule B=BeforeD=Delete row R=Repeat IS=Insert Sub-rule More === Qualifier ---Class ActionType Name StartService Report DEFAULTS: BATCH RDDF 1 SI DSNT ___ TSOPRD RDDF 1 SI DSNA ___ TSOPRD RDDF 2UI PRCS ___NPRODSRVRDDF Will this allow requests from Authid PRCS to the DSNA DDF to use the NPRODSRV service class, while all other requests to the DSNA DDF will default to the TSOPRD service class? Just want another opinion that this will work as expected. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
