How to determine what USER is using a IP address
I'm working on an issue with Telnet on z/os 1.13. I have a user somewhere connecting to the mainframe TCPIP IP using a bypass IP address. We are supposed to be using a SAG sever to connect to the desktop server, however the mainframe is reachable by DNS ip which is for backup emergency purpose only. Does anyone know of a way I can trap when a Telnet session has been created on port 23 with a specific IP address? SFTP to send a file to OMVS
User is using SFTP to send a file to OMVS, then sends a trigger file to MVS using FTP, since SFTP is not supported on MVS datasets. User is trying to eliminate the FTP to MVS but still trigger ESP scheduler to run a job against the original file. ESP cannot detect the file arriving in OMVS. Is there any software available that would make it possible to do SFTP to MVS side on z/OS system that would be practical to install, or is this simply the way it is? I have seen a couple of vendors that provide solutions, such as Dovetail and Tectia but I'm not sure how to answer this question which is how to trigger the Job in ESP when the file arrives in OMVS? Right now it is not possible. Does anyone know of a solution. Setting the OSA Speed and Mode on IBM 2818
Hi Can anyone assist me is setting determining how to set up the OSA Speed and Mode for the OSA card on the IBM 2818 processor. We are trying to define the speed and duplex for the OSA Express4S Gbe LX (card 0404) using the HMC and the SE Advanced Facilities tool. Nowhere is there the ability to make a change. The OSA Implementation manual didn’t help either, maybe because this OSA is 1 step up from what was writte.n Domenic Cifani Technology Consultant III Network Software Canada HP Enterprise Services Telephone (905) 383-7864 HP Cell (905) 869-3279 -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
NETSOL CBT 1981 edition question
Hi First of all, I know why are we still using Ed's 1991 version? The client transitioned to us and I have to try and figure out how to use this old version. I'm trying to add a new VTAM APPL to the CMDTAB for Insight DB2. When I try to run the Assembly for CMDSUB it fails looking for a Macro called RPLUSFLD, or at least I believe it's a macro. Does anyone have any experience with this version of NETSOL? Here is the cut/paste of the assembly error. Re: PL/I Compile error unresolved symbols
Some additional questions 1) Did you recently upgrade the compiler? yes If yes, are the options same as before the upgrade? yes 2) When was the last time this program was compiled correctly? From what im told from the user several years 3) What source changes were made that required this compile? No source changes were made. Show us the related statements and the declares of the functions or data items referenced: you don't need any new include library for that. Second the CEE unresolved references are for the LE bind-time library, usually hlq.SCEELKED (so you need to add this library into your bind (linkedit) step Finally, the IBM unresolved symbols are for PL/I modules but these should also be found in the LE bind-time library. -- Kind regards, -Steve Comstock The Trainer's Friend, Inc. 303-355-2752 http://www.trainersfriend.com * Check out our sale of training materials at http://www.trainersfriend.com/SpecialSale/ (sale
