I looked up that SHARE presentation, and indeed it does mention new shift 
instructions like SLLHH, etc., but that presentation is just plain wrong - 
there are no such instructions in z architecture.

SLLG / SRLG is what you need to use for that purpose.

There is no such mnemonic. Could you be thinking of SLHHHR or SLHHLR?

(Big difference between SHIFT LOGICAL and SUBTRACT LOGICAL.)

The latest PoOp of which I am aware is SA22-7832-12 which is readily downloaded 
from IBM's site.
