I ported the PCRE - Perl Compatible Regular Expressions library to native classic z/OS about a year ago and kept up with maintenance. The current version on my website zaconsultants.net is 8.33. PCRE 8.34 has just been released and I am about to begin porting it to z/OS. There is a major change planned for next release that would raise it from 8.xx to 9.xx. Before I begin the undertaking of porting 8.34 and preparing for 9.xx I'd like to take some survey to gauge the usage of PCRE in our community. I know from anecdotal examination of my website logs, that there were few downloads, but I've not get any concrete feedback sans a feedback from one frustrated user in a very early release.
