Re: Rmm extended dataset
Thanks Mike, after checking master or user status volume, I created my own customized report. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
Re: Rmm extended dataset
Hello Mike, Is the field XVMDMVID or XVVOLCNT existing for multi-volume tape dataset? I found some entries in rmm extended dataset has neither filed. I guess only staring from a specific rmm version , above two filed began to show up in RMM CDS. I want to find a common method to calculate multi-volume tape dataset's volcnt, could you help? Rmm extended dataset
Hello, I am trying to create a rmm report to include: dsn, volser, volseq, volcnt can I use RVUSE as volcnt? regards Victor -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
Re: Rmm extended dataset
Victor, If your volumes have only a single file/data set one each volume you can use the volume extract record ('V' - macro EDGRVEXT). If there are more data sets/files, you should use extended extract records ('X' - macro EDGRXEXT). Also if, 'volcnt' is supposed to be the number of volumes in the multi-volume set, you need X records, and to use XVVOLCNT field. RVUSE is the number of time a volume has been used - it equates to the number of times any data set on the volume has been opened. Look at the multi-volume, multi-data set report created by the Rexx reporting - REPORT11. And if you want something different but similar, start with EDGGR11 in the report generator.
