Yes, I left out that the SEND command listed below needs to be entered from an 
operator console (or SDSF session), not from TSO. BTW, the SAVE operation only 
works the way you described if the USER operand is on the command when it's 
issued from an operator console.

I can't remember how to retain a message in SYS1.BRODCAST, that appears every 
time you logon.
I haven't done this in years.  I'm working on a, hold your breath, OS/390 2.9 
system.  I need to
clone what that system has.
