I don't think Manorama have ever used unicode font. I still have to
depend on Padma to read their sites(manormaonline.com &
manoramanews.com)

If you want the Ubuntu Experience .. then use *Ultimate Edition (2.7)* which
has a feel of ubuntu but has many packages installed.

With that, not only LAMP but also other features such as java sdk along with
many IDEs will be pre installed.

If you want to set up LAMP stack just for a development environment,
install XAMPP[1]. Otherwise, it is better to install respective packages
from repo. Extensive documentation is available in Ubuntu wiki [2].

If you got any error messages, just google, it will get you a bunch of
solutions. Even then, if you can't solve, post the specific error message,
than just 'I'm getting some messages'.

library management software in free software domain,
Koha(http://koha.org)  on 24-07-2010 Saturday, between  9:30AM and

subdue the rest. Remember how much problem the conflicting Mathrubhumi
and Manorama fonts used to cause? And remember how much time it took
for Mathrubhumi and Manorama to accept Unicode after it was
established? They didn't even bother to follow the set ISCII standard.
This set Malayalam content generation back by several years - and it
recovered only due to Unicode. Unlike in case of promoting FOSS, I
believe that we must take tough and strict unilateral stance on
promoting unified open standards.
