absolute rubbish. I find the best people are from rural areas from some vague unknown college who have passed in several attempts. The best hacker I know took about 6-7 years to pass Bsc computer science (he needed a degree to get a visa). Myself is an exact example for the above, as I have done only Dip. in CSE and no engineering or other degree, but has been doing successful business (only using foss) for 7+ years with more than 200+ engineering colleges in Tamilnadu. [Ilugc] Pen drive unwritable
Hi, I work on Pardus Linux at home, and Win XP at work. Last week I unplugged my Transcend 8 GB pen drive from the USB port of my Linux machine, while it was still copying files to the drive. (Actually I was unable to kill the cp command and umount the drive even as root). The PC refused to shutdown until I plugged the drive out. Since then the drive became unwritable: Win XP complains the drive is write protected. I can copy files from the drive; but not to the drive. I am able to mount it on Linux, but it would not unmount. Please help. ___ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc

Is it possible to make it little bit *open* .. say for my own purpose?? What do you suggest? Should I roll out the VPN as the next thing or use a reverse proxy from the apache on dev.abc.co.bd ?? Your OP described the Nagios server with IP number as 120.x.x.x, I presumed it was in the cloud. However, from above post it appears you have these systems in some kind of a DMZ which has a public IP subnet and that you have a functional Nagios setup i.e. you have figured out your specific problem in your OP. http://localhost/nagios will work only when you are logged into desktop running the Nagios system. From any other desktop you will have to give the IP/hostname. A clear picture of your network topology is extremely essential to make any suggestion. From the possible solutions you have mentioned: (a) Reverse Proxy rule is the quickest solution. (b) VPN will give you a lot more flexibility but also require time to setup and test. In your place I would go with option (a). -- Arun Khan ___ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc

Requirement Should work with Linux in a superb manner Should be able to print 100 to 200 pages per week. During some weeks, we may not print anything and sometimes we may not print for 1 -3 weeks at a stretch also. Good support and Low maintenance costs.
