Check out http://chennailug.org/tenet for the location of the meet in IIT
We all meet every second saturday of the month at 3pm.

You don't have to do any special homework other than to have a clear
understanding of what your project is about and how you have thought
of implementing it. You can speak up after the talks are over and
people will pitch in and give suggestions and help you out.

And, please don't thank me for giving this info.

It would be wise if you could make yourself to the next/upcoming ILUGC

need to do some homework of taking a clean project idea in terms of
deliverables to him/her. If you just go and say I need to do a project

It's good that you have an interest to do a FOSS project in your
final year. Here's one way you can go about it.

First, read Shakti Kannan's excellent presentation on how to go about
doing a final year free software project:
http://www.shakthimaan.com/downloads/glv/presentations/i-want-2-do-project-tell-me-wat-2-do.pdf

The pdf only contains the slides, but no notes. If possible you should
attend a talk where Shakti is actually presenting the subject.

Second, read Eric Raymond's article How to Ask Smart Questions:
http://catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

This will help you ask good questions in technical and FOSS forums.

Third, attend a LUG meet -- there's on this Saturday at IITM -- where you
can physically meet people, introduce yourself, learn many new things, and
find people who may help you with your project.

please guide me at every stage to complete this project.

A mentor can only point you in the right direction and cannot guide you
in every single step. But look at the bright side, experience is the best
master, and you'll be learning from every mistake you make.

I guess your learning has already begun ;-)

Good luck!

The above thanks goes to the one who suggested it in the first place.
Now I understand why people hate top posts.

but how do i contact you offline sir.

I think he meant that you should contact him off list, meaning that
you can mail him personally to his e-mail address, rather than discuss
it on the list.

Also, please avoid top posting while mailing the list.

Thanks.

[1] Please read the already given links about email etiquettes and also
read the mailing list guidelines for ILUGC.
[2] Please do not use sir in your every statement. We are neither your
headmaster or your maths professor.
[3] Please discuss this off this list, as in mail people personally; all
I have been seeing in the last 10 posts is just repeated thanks. You man
mail Ravi (ravi.goglob...@gmail.com) personally and get his help.

Thanks.
