The work done by Bala Kumar that aggregated past ILUG-C e-mails into
Elasticsearch can also be used along with a Kibana dashboard to
visualize or view old e-mails. The gmane interface is another
alternative. These are secondary steps though.

I think it is possible (n00b here, forgive me if I'm wrong) if someone
is willing to put a routing entry in the MTA (running in www.ae.iitm.ac
.in) which will route all incoming mails with "To: ilugc@ae.iitm.ac.in"
to  in their transport/routing configuration (eg:
postfix's transport file).

I believe these are the steps we need to do.

1. install mailman in the new server.
1. copy current mailman archives/data to new server (https://www.debian
-administration.org/article/567/Migrating_mailman_lists)
2. configure postfix in the new server to receive mails for il...@ae.ii
tm.ac.in and make it forward that mails to mailman
3. configure MTA in www.ae.iitm.ac.in to forward mails with "To: ilugc@
ae.iitm.ac.in" to new server's postfix port (port 25 or 587)
4. configure postfix in the new server to route all outgoing mails to w
ww.ae.iitm.ac.in (relayhost)

Thats it, we will have our ilugc mailinglist reside in our own server
but all incoming/outgoing mails will go through www.ae.iitm.ac.in. Let
me know if this is what we are looking for.

Is it a question of a server to host? In that case, let's work out the cost 
involved... My company could foot part/all of the cost.

Do we have any plans?  I wasn't able to make up to the monthly meet
today so if there are any migration plans that were discussed please share
on the list. We can pool in interested volunteers to phase it out may be.

I thank the founders of ilugc(to my knowledge Asokan,Prabhu,Sriram) and may
be some one whom i missed in the founders list, for this fantastic journey.

@Shriram I have a query ,

Is ilugc server change over means shutting down the forum at ilugc server
and transplanting it to some other server (may be like freelists) does that
have any effect on the venue for monthly meet ?.
