Re: [ilugd] Mutt, postfix setup for multiple e-mail accounts
A limitation of the present setup is that it sends e-mail only from a particular gmail account. I was able to solve the problem with some help from postfix-users list and from the postfix documentation. There were two parts of the solution. Mutt needed to be be told to force use of envelope address set by mutt. The instructions on the issue are at http://wiki.mutt.org/?MuttGuide/Send . Postfix needed to be told to use sender specific authentication. The relevant instructions are at http://www.postfix.org/SASL_README.html#client_sasl_sender Vikas ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/

I have 4 GB swap partition which is by default created during installation. Its a dual boot system having vista fedora 11, Grub is the bootloader. If your system is dual booted the this problem may occur if you dont creat enough swap during installation. hope you will be able to get rid of this problem. enjoy rakesh On 7/5/09, Devendra Gupta dev29...@gmail.com wrote: Hello! I am using Fedora 11 in my dell inspiron 1525 laptop, (intel GM 965 chipset, intel X3100 graphic accelerator, 2.0 Ghz proc, 2 GB RAM). I have a big problem of system hang. My system hangs at random time most often after keying in the password while booting the machine. I tried to search google but could not find any fruitful result, no one could solve my problem in #fedora in irc.freenode.net too. But Fedora 10 was working fine in the same machine. A blue screen having fedora icon comes when system hangs, mouse tracks but could not click, caps lock scroll lock lights start blinking. In this stage only one option remains to power off system through power button press and hold. This time my fedora 11 kernel version is 2.6.29.5-191.fc11.i686.PAE . Its the updated kernel, previous kernel had the same problem. I also checked /var/log/messages /var/log/Xorg.0.log but I could not understand much in these logs because I am not an advance user yet. I also tried to find related bug in bugzilla.redhat.com I will attach these log files next time when I face this problem again, so you people can check them. If anyone have some idea or want to give some suggestion please reply. These days I am thinking seriously to leave Fedora just because of this problem. -- Thanks Regards Devendra Kumar Gupta ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/ ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/ -- Thanks Regards Devendra Kumar Gupta ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/
Re: [ilugd] Mutt, postfix setup for multiple e-mail accounts
In infinite wisdom Vikas Rawal said the following On 7/6/09 12:04 AM: On my laptop, I use mutt with postfix for sending e-mails, and fetchmail for receiving them. Postfix is setup to relay mails through gmail. I am the only user on the computer and all mails originating from the computer are sent from my account. A limitation of the present setup is that it sends e-mail only from a particular gmail account. I have, like most people these days, a couple of different e-mail accounts that I like to use for different purposes. I would like to set up mutt and postfix in such a way that I could use these various accounts for sending mail. I have set up mutt profiles for different accounts. With that mutt is able to send mails with different From: headers. What you need is called address rewriting. http://www.postfix.org/ADDRESS_REWRITING_README.html. It is a bit of hairy topic and if you are doing it for the first time, be prepeared to work on it for a few uninterrupted hours. -- Raj Shekhar - I love this planet! [ilugd] National policy on e-governance: An official position from ILUG-D?
Hello everyone, I have drafted a letter that I propose be sent to various government officials, and industry organisations as an official ILUG-Delhi response to the draft of the national policy on e-governance. The draft response is at http://wiki.linux-delhi.org/cgi-bin/twiki/view/Main/EgovIndia Please read it, and comment on it by editing it there itself. It needs to go out within the next few days, so if you plan to respond, please hurry up. The Wiki page also has a copy of the draft policy attached, and links to a couple of blogs on the subject. I urge you to read at least the policy. It is only 9 pages long, clearly written, and amazingly pro-FOSS, though there are loopholes in it.
