I have both on my PC. I posted this message here as I believe Firefox

Hmm.

Most likely it's something to do with some addons you might have. If
you are using BetterGmail addon, then disable it, test the issue,
install BetterGmail2, then try again.

And then consider Sahil's suggestion once again.

I'm able to reproduce above status by removing my ELF sharedexecutable
interpreter (not actually interpreter but kind of runtimedynamic library
linker) which resides at /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2(for AMD64
architecture) or /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (for IA-32architecture). So by removing
glibc-2.6 you wiped off your ELF sharedexecutable interpreter. Copy from
some working live filesystem toreach a working state.

I tried scping from other host but
 host2: # scp /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/lib64/
 Password:
/bin/bash: No such file or directory

Assuming your system reboots back up in SLES; how about booting the
system with a live CD, mounting the affected filesystem and copying
the file from remote system to the affected machine? If you have not
rebooted since the issue or are avoiding reboot fearing that you will
not be able to get it to boot again, then please ignore the above
suggestion.

  1. Boot the system from a LiveCD.

I have Ubuntu Fiesty 7.04 Desktop x86, do i need to download 64bit AMD
and Intel computers server edition of Ubuntu? As server is intel 64 bit
 processor.
  2. Re-mount the hard-disk partitions in rw mode.

I believe i need to mount the root file system and copy the /bin/* and
then /lib64/* from working host, is there anything else i need to take care?
  3. Copy the libc file through the network/USB.
 I assume libc mean /lib/* and /lib64/*.

As Ashish said before.. depends whether you are using 32 or 64 bit.

  4. Unmount the partitions.

  5. Reboot into the hard-disk.

What after that, should i go and re-install glibc-2.3.3 along with its
dependent packages or it is not required ?

Then you should reboot the system from HDD and hope it works.

1. Politeness will take you far.
2. Google Is Your Friend. You may want to start from here

3. Best distro for client? Are clients also going to be using

It would be interesting to map ilugd users kinda like

know how at the moment. Wonder if it can be done on

time to figure this out unless someone beats me to it.

Gora Well, you can't get the time of creation of a file, as that is
Gora not stored. You can get various other times, such as the time
Gora of modification, time of access (unless this has been turned off
Gora at the filesystem level), and time of modification of file status.

@Ankit, Gora is right, file creation time is not stored. What above
code gives you is the latest `modified' (not necessarily created)
file.

Ankit used in shell script?

Bimal you may also take a look at find command with time
parameter, see man find for more details.

You mean -mtime, -atime and -ctime options? But this will also not
give latest `created' file.
Let's hear from Ankit if he found what he was looking for.

Applications like qtstalker which import the info and give tech

NSE does provide free live quotes but I haven't come across any linux
based application which can retrieve the information from the NSE
site. There is a Windows software though which can pull the NSE live
quotes, display and update them every minute. The above mentioned
program qtstalker is for technical analysis / charting only. I think
it should be possible to write a simple script (similar to a site
scrapper) which can extract the quotes from NSE site for specific
scrips every minute and display them on a terminal screen.

I think it uses Yahoo Finance only as the data source. You can go to
the Yahoo Finance India site at http://in.finance.yahoo.com/ and do a
symbol look for the Indian companies and add the symbols in the
ticker. Typically the symbols for NSE would be the alphabetic NSE code
suffixed by .NS, like RELIANCE.NS, SBIN.NS, ITC.NS, etc. The BSE codes
are suffixed by .BO and the popular indices have codes like ^NSEI
(Nifty) and ^BSESN (Sensex).
