[ilugd] How to make a linux server
Hi friends I am thinking of starting up a new business in which I am hoping to give only good quality LINUX webspace at cheaper rates. Please if anyone of you can tell me exactly what are the things that I will require to start up eg. which processor etc. and which linux version. I am new to all this. Please if anyone of you could comment on the business that would be helpful. Also please anyone of you could tell me what will be the approximate cost for starting up it would be very helpful. [ilugd] Problem still not solved
Hi Arvind I have tried what you said regarding the bootloader problem. But the problem is as it is. All the steps runs successfully except when I tried to run the last step ie. grub -install /dev/hda it gives the error that the option --install is wrong. if I run grub - install (ie. with a space between - and install )then a new screen comes with prompt as grub Please tell me what must I do. I shall be very grateful Abhishek jain Please tell me what must i do. - Original Message - From: Arvind Sinha [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, December 22, 2003 2:02 PM Subject: [ilugd] Please solve the problem its is needed Please solve the problem its is needed Dear Gyandev, Configure the bios to boot up from a cd- you need to press del or ctrl while the bios details are coming up. Then insert the red hat or linux cd and choose linux rescue. When you enter into the rescue mode type -chroot /mnt/sysimage then change to the following folder using-cd /boot/grub then type -grub-install /dev/hda This works in RHL9. Should restore the grub to the MBR.
