treats both varieties under *Terminalia coronata *(Stapf) Gere & Boatwr.

Also *Anogeissus latifolia* Wall.

is
treated as ambiguous synonym for *Terminalia anogeissiana* Gere & Boatwr.

and
*Anogeissus acuminata* (Roxb. ex DC.) Guillaum. & Perr.

Hi, Tapas ji,
Should we follow this treatment by transferring Anogeissus species under
Terminalia?

Around 7000 images has been inserted in the previous month.
In addition, species and genera pages of some families were completed.

[efloraofindia:311660] Sh. Dinesh Valke: Star Expert of Nov.' 2018

2018-11-30 Thread J.M. Garg
Dear members,
Sh. Dinesh Valke is the Star Expert of the last month with 206 messages, in
which he mainly focussed on posting plants from his Rajasthan trip, mostly
identified by him.
He has no parallels. He created efloraofindia site & gifted it to us. He
always had a great vision & pioneered so many new ideas on efi.
He has taken aim of getting names of plants in vernacular languages in
their own scripts & he has been tenaciously working in that direction for
as long as he has been with efi, if not more.
The result of his efforts is always seen in efi, though at a slow pace as
it is a very time consuming work.
He is also one of ours Pillars

and remains at number 3 since long among top 10 all time posters
.
My hat off to Dinesh Valke ji!!!

[efloraofindia:311659] Most Interactive Person of Nov.' 2018: Sh. Saroj Kumar Kasaju

2018-11-30 Thread J.M. Garg
Dear members,
Sh. Saroj Kumar Kasaju is the Most Interactive Person of last month (*with 413
messages*) with his beautiful uploads & interactions. His postings are
mainly from Nepal (areas still deficient in efi), Himalayan region of West
Bengal, Ladakh etc. including many new additions to efi. However, he
concentrated on Hong Kong & Nepal in this month along with Pankaj ji. There
were lot of new additions as lot of species captured there, are also having
distribution in India.
Quality of his uploads is also wonderful showing almost all aspects of a
plant with high resolution images, along with superb photography and close
up details. He has a great knowledge as far as flora of Nepal & Himalayan
region is concerned. He has also started helping other members in their
identifications.
He continued to mesmerise us this month also (like since July'16), for
which he has been consistently becoming Most Interactive Person every month.
He is also one of ours Pillars

and has moved quickly at number 5 among top 10 all time posters
.
My hats off to Saroj ji for his superb contributions.

Quite right to send it to me - of course "that ain't no palm", but a
tree-fern! Cyathea species do, however, need a close up of the underneath
of a pinnule to show hairs, small scales etc. My guess is it might be C.
spinulosa, but that is itself a species-pair with a closely related cryptic
second species - so the close-up is needed.
Cheers,

Thanks a lot for suggesting Crataegus.
There were no thorns on the tree as far as I can remember.
Cut fruit will be difficult now as I''m miles away from Atlanta.
Thee pictures were taken during my visit last month.
I'm adding a picture of the whole tree if it helps.

Aarti

Re: [efloraofindia:311625] Mollugo pentaphylla FOR VALIDATION :: Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park :: 24 OCT 18

2018-11-30 Thread Dinesh Valke
Looks like the name *Boerhavia chinensis* (L.) Rottb. has regained
acceptance, at least looks so in The Plants List
, and *Commicarpus
chinensis* (L.) Heim. is now considered as its synonym. Please validate.
Regards.

To: J.M. Garg

Hello Sir
In my opinion, this is Prosopis cineraria. Leaves are bipinnate but only
single pair of pinna. Thorns distributed all over, not paired.

Thank you sir
