Alfalfa is high in protein, calcium, plus other minerals, vitamins in the B group, vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin K. In Germany Alfalfa Sprouts are very popular in salads, and one can buy seeds 125 gramm for 3 Euro ;-))
German Wiki says: Bumblebee is the main pollinator (78%) where as honeybees just under 1%. So in Schweden and Finnland Luzerne is grown in areas where there are many Bumblebees. In 19.jh Luzerne was taken to Australia and newzeeland, because of lack of Bumbleebees the yield was very low. In 1885 Bumblebees were imported to Australien and Neuseeland on Suggestion of Charles Darwin.
