Kerala plants site mentioned it's Malayalam names as *Nilachakka* *നിലചക്ക* (*nila*m means land and *chakka* means jackfruit but I think the name is derived of it's rosette leaves) *Njaramboori* *ഞരമ്പൂരി* (*njaramb*u means vein and *oori* means loosing, but I think this name is related to it's medicinal value).
