Re: [efloraofindia:312639] Fagonia indica :: Jaisalmer :: 25 OCT 18

2018-12-16 Thread Dinesh Valke
Sorry Garg ji and all, please ignore my last sent post. I realized I have
sent it while in draft condition.
Here is what I want to express:

Thanks Garg ji, for the analysis.

My posted plant agrees with the first key in Flora of Pakistan
 -
that is: *Lower leaves trifoliolate, upper unifoliolate*; petiole 5-12 mm
long...*Fagonia indica* var. *schweinfurthii*
I am not clear which key or features relate to *Fagonia indica* (var.
*indica*).

*Fagonia indica* var. *schweinfurthii* - the accepted name as per Catalogue
of Life is *Fagonia **schweinfurthii.*

On reading through internet, *Fagonia schweinfurthii* is found distributed
in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Punjab,

Re: [efloraofindia:312722] wire bush FOR ID :: Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park :: 24 OCT 18

2018-12-16 Thread Dinesh Valke
Thanks Garg ji for validating the ID.
But I am not sure whether *Aerva lanata* is distributed in Jodhpur.
The Desert Park in Jodhpur has only native plants of Thar desert and
adjoining arid areas within Rajasthan.
I went with thinking of *Aerva javanica* - because it is distributed in
desert / arid regions, for example, Jaisalmer.

Requesting you to glance through following document related to flora of
Jodhpur.
STUDIES ON THE VEGETATION AND FLORA OF JODHPUR
 ... page 43 & 44 ... it
lists *Aerva persica* and *Aerva pseudotomentosa*.

I will go with your thoughts.

Regards.
Dinesh

 Dear Saroj ji,
Apologies for a late response. A few online guides give the filaments
 as connate
 or adnate

for *L. japonica*. Also, I have photographed this plant till 6500ft
and may have seen it beyond that as well here in Dharamshala, Himachal
Pradesh. Of course I may have been misidentifying the plant here too and
hope your quest sheds more light on the matter.

 With best regards,
