2000-05-03 Thread rajkumar samuel

Hi,
I've installed CVS for windows and the client WINCVS.In the same machine,if
i have the CVSROOT defined as
:local:cvsroot evrything works fine.
My understanding is that both my client and server is in the same
machine. But when i want my client in a different machine,it doesent seem to
work.

Can anyone of u pls let me know how to do it?

thanx,
sam

PServer connection failure

2000-05-08 Thread rajkumar samuel

Hi,
I have CVS server set up on Solaris.I'm trying to access the sever from
WINNT thru the PServer method.

My inetd.conf file reads as(all in one line)

cvspserver stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/bin/cvs cvs
--allow-root=/export/home/vinoth/cvsrepos pserver

My services file has the entry
cvspserver 2401/tcp

The passwd file is in vinoth/cvsrepos/CVSROOT
It reads as

vinoth:vL1aKHEoyitHU

This user vinoth is in a unix group called cvs

when i connect thru a client to the server

:pserver:vinoth@dev-sun1:/export/home/vinoth/cvsrepos login
and give the password, then it throws me an error as

cvs [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from dev-sun1: CVS commands
are:

Is there anything wrong in what i'm doing?
can u pls solve my problm.
thanx,
sam
