RE: old fileattr files - safe to delete?

2006-05-26 Thread Arthur Barrett
David,

I know some people in your company are using CVSNT on
Linux/Unix/Windows. In this case you should definitely not touch these
fileattr files since they contain the permissions/ACL's.

RE: Blocking a branch for some users

2006-05-26 Thread Arthur Barrett

I created a branch of a project im working
 on in cvs.

I need to deny all access to some users.

CVSNT (free GPL just like CVS) on Linux/Unix/Windows/Mac is the only CVS
product that I know of that supports access control on Branches. See
cvsnt.org/manual the commands chacl and lsacl.

There are several ACL scripts for GNU CVS but I don't *think* they
support different ACL's on branches.

Arthur Barrett

RE: Mystery files apearing on checkout.

2006-05-26 Thread Arthur Barrett
Bruce,

This is not the CVSNT newsgroup. Both 2.0.51d and 2.5.02 are CVSNT only
versions.

Please ask your question here instead:
http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt
or
news://news.cvsnt.org/support.cvsnt

Upgrading 2.0.51d to the latest version from cvsnt.com is highly
recommended.

Arthur Barrett

Subject: Mystery files apearing on checkout.

Hello,

I am using 2.0.51d Windows client and 2.5.02 Windows server. I have
created
a branch at 1.1.1.1 in a large repository. When I checkout on the empty

directories that are not part of the branch appear in the file system
during
the checkout. At the end of the checkout CVS removes them The prune
option seems to have no effect. These directories appear to
directories
that have been deleted at a point much later in the source tree in the
source tree. How can I stop these mystery directories from appearing.

Thanks
