Re: Trouble with Eudora and cyrus-imapd-2.3.8
That's the same behavior that I observed, but never made the connection to unread-->deleted. If you find a solution please share, as that was one major hangup on testing the system. The user did make a curious discovery the other day. There's a right-click menu item on his INBOX that says `Show deleted messages'. When he selected that, all his missing messages showed up, but they were marked as unread, not deleted. Other IMAP clients have been showing those unread messages. -- -Gary Mills--Unix Support--U of M Academic Computing and Networking- Cyrus Home Page: http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/ Cyrus Wiki/FAQ: http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/twiki List Archives/Info: http://asg.web.cmu.edu/cyrus/mailing-list.html

It seems to have to do with synchronization between the client and the server. The symptom is that the inbox view is not correct. Deleted messages don't disappear, but when they're deleted again, other messages disappear. As well, some messages stay in the inbox when they should have been filtered to a local folder. Filtering them again results in duplicates in the local folder. Has anyone else heard of this sort of problem with Eudora? Is there anything that can be done, either on the client or server side, to correct it? Did you enable telemetry logging for this user to see what the communications between the client and server look like? Not sure if that would help, but maybe worth a try Cyrus Home Page: http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/ Cyrus Wiki/FAQ: http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/twiki List Archives/Info: http://asg.web.cmu.edu/cyrus/mailing-list.html

Impossible migration from 2.0.16 to 2.2.12 ?
I'm trying to migrate an old cyrus-imap 2.0.16 server to a new 2.2.12 one. I think everything is correctly configured as the new box is working fine : - ldap authentication is ok - postfix mail transport is ok - webmin mailboxes administration is ok - imap client connection is ok So I'm using imapsync to migrate all the mails from the old box to the new one and unfortunately I got tons of complains from imapsync (in fact imapd) as : << + Copying msg #21:5314 to folder INBOX flags from : [\Seen NonJunk][] 199 NO Message contains invalid header at ./imapsync line 1173 Couldn't append msg #21 (Subject:[Site d=?ISO-8859-1?B?6Q==?=mo du programme de formation parentale]) to folder INBOX: 199 NO Message contains invalid header It seems that newer versions of cyrus-imap are much more restrictive than older ones. Did someone face the same kind of problem ? How was it solved ? I'm almost ready to downgrade the new box to cyrus-imap 2.0.16. But I'm not sure it will work with sasl2 and what about running both sasl and sasl2 on the same box ?
