quota problem
We're running Cyrus IMAPD 2.3.9 on RedHat Enterprise Server 5 (kernel 2.6.18-8.1.10), on an HP ProLiant DL385 G2, a four-core 64-bit machine. Yesterday, I restored a deleted mailbox, and that seems to have corrupted the disk usage information for about 70 of our users (out of about 730), so that they appeared to be using much more disk space than they actually were, putting them over quota. Here's the basic process I use (as our cyrus user) to restore mailboxes: create(user/mailbox_name, partition) cd mailbox_dir tar -zxpf gzipped_mailbox_tarball reconstruct -r -f user/mailbox_name set_acl(user/mailbox_name, mailbox_name, lrswipcda) quota -f Am I doing something wrong here that might have triggered the quota problem? Also, I noticed in the man page for quota these two seemingly contradictory sentences: If any optional mailbox-prefix arguments are given, the quota listing (and inconsistency fixing) is limited to quota roots with names that start with one of the given prefixes. Running quota with both the -f option and mailbox-prefix arguments is not recommended. So, you _can_ run quota -f mailbox, but you shouldn't??? Thanks for everyone's ideas. I helped the guy move mail into local folders, and eventually, the problem disappeared. He still has a quota greater than 2 Gb, so that apparently wasn't the problem. Odd quota problem
We have one user who has very large disk usage, 3,880,884 kb. His quota is 4,250,000 kb. Interestingly, when I do a du of this guy's mailbox, I get 1,889,972 kb. Re: Outlook does not delete but displays deleted messages asstrike-trough
We've been migrating our users from UW IMAP to Cyrus, and a few of our Outlook and Outlook Express users have been having a problem regarding deletion that they never had with UW IMAP. When they open a message up in a separate window, then close it, Outlook/Outlook Express marks the message as deleted, with a strike-through. One of our Outlook users could no longer read the message at that point. One Outlook user also reported that clicking send/receive messages didn't do anything. -- Karl Boyken, system administrator [EMAIL PROTECTED] 303A MLH, Dept. of Comp. Re: moving inbox from uw-imap to cyrus
Yossie, when I was looking at imapsync, I ran into the same problem. What I wound up doing was, I'd transfer the uw inbox into user/INBOX, and then, I'd move the mail messages up out of the INBOX folder, do a reconstruct, and delete INBOX. Then I'd transfer the rest of the folders. Karl Boyken Situation .. I would like to move a given user's email from uw-imap to cyrus (in fact all users). While this is happening, I would like the users to be able to access their email normally (as it is being moved, of course) on cyrus. I can make it so I can access the uw-imap mailbox for the user without knowing his password (one line temporary hack to uw-imap to allow for a super password) I can use the cyrus admin user to access the cyrus side at a global level. I can then use a tool like imapsync to copy mailboxes from uw-imap to cyrus easily enough. What I can't figure out is how to move the INBOX. There appears to be no mailbox prefix that when used with the cyrus admin user, will put the email in the users INBOX (the special one where new email lands, not a folder named INBOX under it!) formail not parsing folder
I'm trying to convert email from our U Wash IMAP server over to Cyrus, using several Perl utilities mentioned in the O'Reilly IMAP book. One of these, folderxfer, uses formail to split the U Wash mbox file into separate messages. This is working fine, except for a couple of people's Sent Items folders, which formail doesn't seem to be able to parse into messages. Apparently, Sent Items is created by our Horde/IMP webmail software. Has anyone seen this? Any solutions?
