  Are you serious ?
Please let's keep the discussion on the mailing list. And please do not

Frankly speaking, I do not care for qmail-ldap. qmail is a software dead
 since over a decade.

Postfix maps can almost certainly emulate whatever qmail-ldap is doing.

My point was that the mail structure cyrus-imapd uses is not Maildir.

+1 Cyrus is *not* Maildir.

imap cyrus

2014-04-18 Thread Gustavo Coelho
Hi folks,

i have installed cyrus-imap and i can not get it to work. I can authenticate
against saslauthd and everything is working in such realm. But how do i tell it
to read my users maildir ?

Below are some information:

0. My /etc/imapd.conf is:

# $OpenBSD: imapd.conf,v 1.4 2008/08/20 13:15:52 ajacoutot Exp $
# imapd.conf(5)

configdirectory: /var/imap
partition-default: /var/spool/imap
sievedir: /var/sieve
sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail
#admins:

sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd
sasl_mech_list: GSSAPI PLAIN
sasl_keytab: /var/imap/krb5.keytab
auth_mech: krb5
#force_sasl_client_mech:
allowplaintext: 1

# uncomment to use '/' instead of '.' as hierarchy separator character
#unixhierarchysep: 1

# uncomment to allow plaintext authentication
#allowplaintext: 1

# uncomment to convert the recipient address to lowercase
#lmtp_downcase_rcpt: 1

I am using qmail-ldap and i would like to integrate cyrus-imapd with qmail-ldap.
My users maildirs lies within /var/pop/$username. Inside it there is the
Inbox maildir.

May someone here help me ?

That will not work. cyrus-imapd has its own mail store structure which
is not Maildir. Migrate from your qmail setup.

Hello - I subscribed here because I'm having a heck of a time with something
I would imagine should be pretty easy: namely, I want to cyrus-imap with the
saslpasswd. But I after a few hours and much reading and trial-and-error, I've
had no success.

I'm on gentoo linux, using cyrus-sasl-2.1.22 and cyrus-imapd-2.2.12:

mybox ~ # saslpasswd2 -a smtpauth cyrus

mybox ~ # sasldblistusers2

mybox ~ # cyradm --user cyrus localhost

log output shows:

IMAP-, Cyrus-BUG or Client-BUG???

2003-07-10 Thread Oliver Pitzeier
Hi folks!

One of my customers created a folder under her inbox - INBOX. entwurf, please
note the space!!!

She tried using that folder as she does usually, but Entourage crashed... OK,
this happens very often - I know... :-)

But it crashed again and again, if she tried using that folder... I gave myself
the rights to use this folder using cyradm. And Outlook had the strange
behaviour, that it downloaded the current message-list again and again. It
didn't stop. Seams like and endless-loop for me

Using Outlook it wasn't possible to create such a folder (it simply ignors
leading spaces). But with Entourage it was! I believe it's a client problem (-
Entourage), but I'm not sure. So if anybody out there knows the problem, please
tell me.

Thanks,
 Oliver

voicemail to IMAP (cyrus) gateway?

2002-02-27 Thread Dave Caplinger

Is anyone aware of a voicemail system that will inter-operate with a
cyrus IMAP server to either

a) send users email with a URL where they can retrieve the voicemail
(relying on a web browser for voicemail delivery)
or
b) deposit voicemail into a user's IMAP mailbox as a message with a
sound file attachment

Option a would actually be ideal since then I don't have to deal with
mailbox quotas getting full because of voicemails (which means that
sometimes the voicemail system would not be able to successfully deliver
the message and must deal with that possibility), but b would
certainly be acceptable.

I've been looking in the obvious places, but virtually everything having
to do with unified messaging of this type is specific to Microsoft
Exchange Server and/or Lotus Notes. My needs are meager, I'm not
looking for FAX support etc, just voicemail -- IMAP mailbox. My only
other requirement is that it not be win32-specific for the end users.
Most of our users are on Macs and for the rest we banned Outlook long
ago.

If you email to me directly, I'll summarize to the list later. Thanks!

You might want to take a look at the VPIM (Voice Profile for Internet Mail)
work at the IETF which is working on standards to help this type of
behaviour:

http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/vpim-charter.html

There are a number of commercial vendors (not just MS and Lotus) that do
have solutions in this space, but I don't have details myself. I think a
lot of the telecomms companies (e.g. Nortel, ATT etc) who already have
voicemail products are involved in this space.

RE: voicemail to IMAP (cyrus) gateway?

2002-02-27 Thread ???

Hi,
We already added unified messaging support to cyrus IMAP.
Almostly, we didn't modify anything in Cyrus IMAP.
One thing that may change IMAP is that IMAP daemon may have
to return UID of a message when appending a voice mail to a user's mailbox.
It's very simple work.

VPIM support is your work rather than Cyrus IMAP.

You might want to take a look at the VPIM (Voice Profile for Internet Mail)
work at the IETF which is working on standards to help this type of
behaviour:

There are a number of commercial vendors (not just MS and Lotus) that do
have solutions in this space, but I don't have details myself. I think a
lot of the telecomms companies (e.g. Nortel, ATT etc) who already have
voicemail products are involved in this space.
