What are Bookworm users supposed to do to make Mesa DRI work correctly
now that i915_dri.so is missing? Did it get moved to some other .deb
I can't ID? I don't think Crocus is supposed to work on Gen3. At least,
export MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=crocus in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/10-crocus.sh
doesn't help.

In openSUSE Tumbleweed in 22.2.4 i915 is still included in its Mesa-dri
package, and Mesa DRI Intel 945G is working as expected.

[Intel-gfx] KMS start locks up RocketLake-S GT1

2021-12-11 Thread Felix Miata
Is there a command line option needed for RocketLake-S GT1 on i5-11400? Is it
supposed to use some module other than i915? Tumbleweed kernel 5.15.6 locks up,
apparently when KMS should be kicking in. I can't get any logs or dmesg except
when booting with nomodeset.

[Intel-gfx] i810e & i815 no /dev/dri/card0

2021-05-08 Thread Felix Miata
https://manpages.debian.org/testing/xserver-xorg-video-intel/intel.4.en.html
says these IGPs are supported. Is this true? I'm trying to get them to work in
Debian Stretch and Buster, but having no luck finding /dev/dri/card0. What doc
explains how to acquire it? VESA is producing only 640x480. :~(

I see in http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1185174 it requires
heroics
as of kernel 5.12. :( But, Stretch is on 4.9 and Buster is on 4.19, so should
still work, right?

By "adaptors", do you mean logical adapters in motherboard firmware that maybe
an update could improve?

Thanks for the reply.

BTW, DP daisy chaining the same motherboard I get the following:

That logic looks backwards to me. DP-1-8 is the screen in the middle of the

[Intel-gfx] [Eaglelake][i915] pipe state doesn't match

2016-07-15 Thread Felix Miata
I looked for a match on https://bugs.freedesktop.org/query.cgi but found
nothing looking like a close match that hadn't been marked fixed or
duplicate.

This is happening on a Dell Optiplex 780 in every openSUSE boot at least
as far back as kernel 3.16 in v13.2, but is not evident in v13.1 running
3.12.59. It's also evident in Knoppix 7.6.1 & kernel 4.2.6. This is full
dmesg from Tumbleweed's kernel 4.6.3, vaapi-intel-driver-1.7.0 and
libdrm2-2.4.68/libdrm_intel1-2.4.68, with the following cmdline:

Is yours a SFF model 780? Overheating can cause freezing, and small case
Dells, like other compact case PCs, are particularly susceptible to
overheating if allowed to accumulated dust and/or tobacco tar, particularly
on CPU cooler and/or within PS. Dust collected on tar acts as an insulator,
containing heat within the source components. If you're sure overheating is
not your problem, run memtest86 overnight or longer. You might have failing
RAM. It happens. Sometimes simply reseating RAM will help if testing produces
errors, but don't count on it.

I can't recall my SFF 780 ever doing as yours with any Linux kernel all the

Was ensuring heat is a non-issue also done? SFF & USFF models tend to run
rather hot, so accumulated dust, and especially tobacco tar, within,
especially within the power supply, can become an intermittent problem for
software.

Currently it's 87F outside. I have a window open directly behind the
system and a fan blowing on the front of it. We're just not ready to
turn the AC on yet. CPU0 is running around 116F and CPU1 109F. This
whole issue of the video freezing whether it's with or without the
Hangcheck error has been ongoing here on my system since 13 Sept 2014.
The last time the video froze with the Hangcheck error was Jan 17 2016.
Since then the video has frozen without the error on 1/21/16; 1/27/16;
2/25/16; 3/08/16; 3/11/16; and today 3/15/16 at 09:50am. I came back to
the desktop at around 11am to find it frozen at 9:50. I moved the mouse,
the video flickered and the clock caught up and came unfrozen. The only
thing in my syslog for that time is:

09:50:07 localhost kernel: [347769.284331] [drm:drm_mode_addfb2] [FB:60]
09:50:07 localhost kernel: [347769.303256] [drm:drm_mode_addfb2] [FB:62]
09:50:07 localhost kernel: [347769.324369] [drm:drm_mode_addfb2] [FB:63]

Ambient temps tolerated by humans really shouldn't matter. Excess heat inside
the case is often a problem elsewhere than where temp probes lie when dust
has materially accumulated. What I was really asking is, is its inside
reasonably clean, including inside the PSU? In 2014 it would have been around
5 or 6 years old. Also, is the PSU fan always moving some air?

Maybe it's time to give it an overnight memtest workout. Could be there's
become an iffy bit in the video RAM area.

I have a 780 too, and a 760, and a 745, and several 620s, but they are all
SFF, and don't often get left on more than a couple of hours at a time. Video
lockups I don't remember ever seeing on any of them. Gnome isn't installed on
any. Kubuntu on one 620 might be 14.10, but only openSUSE 13.1, 13.2, 42.1
and Tumbleweed are on my 780. 13.2 uses kernel 3.16.7, 42.1 4.1.15, and TW
(currently) 4.4.3.

[Intel-gfx] setting primary in multihead xorg.conf causes disregard of DisplaySize

2016-02-10 Thread Felix Miata
Possibly some fault overlap with
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90842 but this is not the same.
I found no other filed bugs similar.

Both DisplaySize and primary display assigned as I wish with radeon.

Both DisplaySize and primary display assigned as I wish with nouveau.

With Intel I must choose between having the DPI I want, or having the primary
display assigned as I wish. Unlike nouveau and radeon, intel won't let me
have both, at least, not using a comparable xorg.conf. I tried on two
different Intel gfx machines (both 4 series, one with pair of 1920x1080,
other with 1680x1050 and 1920x1080), with same failing result.

I ask here before filing a bug to see it there is a workaround or some
specific setup requirement that intel requires and neither radeon nor nouveau
do.

I've run across many Optiplex models over the years, but the GX50 predates
them all. Looking up in Google it appears to be a Pentium III. Most PCs using
those predate Intel onboard graphics, among which my GX200 (but not my GX150
or GX110). If your GX50 has the 810E chipset, the Intel driver has in recent
years had limited functionality and marginal performance in Linux. My GX110
has 810E. I haven't powered it up in over 7 months. It's painfully slow. I
don't remember if X even works in it any more. If you really think a machine
nearly 2 decades old with maximum RAM population of 0.5GB warrants refurb, I
suggest you find and install in it an ATI or NVidia PCI gfxcard. The OS and X
need the shared RAM the 810E video is now using.

The 7600 has 945G video. I have various recent distro installations (among
which Kubuntu 14.04 and above) scattered among various machines using 945G
experiencing none of the trouble your bugs describe, so maybe its problem is
RAM or memory controller. Have you inspected its innards for exploding or
leaky electrolytic capacitors? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague
If it has any large uF (680 or higher) OST brand caps that appear normal they
may nevertheless be bad and are worth checking or replacing if you believe
the machine otherwise worth salvaging.

Nomodeset is a workaround that blocks use of Intel driver which causes use of
a low perfomance, limited function fallback driver that will use only modes
provided by the machine's video BIOS.

See if this provides enough skeleton to get you going.
http://fm.no-ip.com/Share/Linux/xorg.conf-inteldual03

Note that for your needs, each Section "Monitor" in it is overkill. It should
be sufficient to include in each only an identifier and a position option.
For 1280x1024 displays, everything else should either be unnecessary, or
auto-generate via EDID.

Note too that it intentionally contains no modelines. At least 99.% of
the time, the system is smart enough to auto-generate whatever modeline is
applicable to the appropriate mode, so don't waste your time looking for or
including any modelines unless your Commander and Operator 1280x1024 displays
have already proven themselves incapable of allowing appropriate
auto-generation.

Note that Kubuntu has a built-in utility called kscreen that autostarts
unless you explicitly override it. Were you to add KDE to your Lubuntu, you
might find Kscreen overriding your custom configuration:

Neither does the lockup occur in the 13.2 installation if the xrandr script has

In amd64 Debian Jessie (kernel 3.16, server 1.16.4), lockup on exit does not

Is lockup using DisplayPort cable a known problem? Kernel? Driver? Xorg? Other?

I think the crash is in the rejection handling code. If the kernel
rejects the modeset, we try again with via a shadow. The crash is very
unexpected. You can run the stacktraces though addr2line (e.g.
 addr2line -i -e /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so 0x638f7
 0x68fbc 0x6a02b)

Brief googling this didn't find anything I can grok. It's probably doable with
minimal hand-holding, e.g. a URL explaining what tools need to be installed
(gdb + ???) and how to use them. Debugging is something I do so infrequently I
forget everything I managed to slog through from one session to the next.

but also compiling your own ddx with
 --enable-debug=full would be very useful.

Not doable. I tried programming in college over 4 decades ago. English remains
as much language as I can cope with, and not even that much WRT OBS. OTOH, RPMs
I can deal with.

A drm.debug=6 dmesg would tell you what is going on kernel side.

Tell you maybe. :-)

Tumbleweed, kernel 4.0.4:

Looks like maybe the crash occurred in the vicinity of [433.26] in F21,
[111.57] in TW, but there's minimal sense I can make of dmesg generally.

All this said, crash didn't happen in Rawhide, so maybe it's a kernel
problem that has resolved itself post-4.0.4?

Xorg is usually smart enough to automatically produce an appropriate modeline

EDID is usually a lot of unnecessary work. Here, it has never been a

IIRC, I've solved this problem in the distant past by in BIOS setup changing

Unfortunately I was unable to find such a configuration option in the
 BIOS menu.

I just rebooted a Grub Legacy/openSUSE i915 system after changing its BIOS
video setting from 8M to 1M. Grub with gfxboot starts in 640x480 mode instead
of 800x600, and the combination of vga=791 and video=1024x768@60 on cmdline
generates an unsupported BIOS mode message from vga=791. Trying again leaving
off vga=791, Grub again appears in 640x480, and boot proceeds in that mode
until the kernel switches framebuffer to 1024x768. Restoring BIOS to 8M
restores 1024x768 normalcy here.

It appears that Grub dev is right about your BIOS; 1024x768 is not available
until after the BIOS releases control, and probably until Grub2 turns the
screen over to the kernel. IOW, your BIOS is your problem.

on the Lenovo X60 with i945 graphics (and vendor BIOS), for using
fastboot, that means to avoid a modeset, I want to set the desired
resolution in GRUB using the option `GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768` in
 `/etc/default/grub`.

Making a change in /etc/default/grub does not take effect until the actual
Grub menu is rebuilt. It's a config file, not a menu file.

Unfortunately that does not have an effect and the
 resolution is only 640×480.

IIRC, I've solved this problem in the distant past by in BIOS setup changing
memory size reserved for video controller from 1M to 8M.

The GRUB developer told me that this is likely a Video BIOS issue.

Am I out of luck or do you know of possible solutions or do you have
pointers how to debug this? GRUB’s `vbeinfo` lists the resolution of
 1024×768.

GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768 assumes you are using Grub2. In Grub legacy what you
need is video=1024x768 or video=1024x768@60 on the kernel cmdline. I have
multiple i945G systems using both vga=1024x768@60 and Grub Legacy, but none
Lenovo.

Which distro are you using?

That's not in any -intel. You are misinterpreting verbiage in the
logfile if you think that is what 2.21.15 says.

Methinks you misinterpreted my comment at the time you replied. Sometime
after v2.20.19 the string connected disappeared from Xorg.0.log files,
while remaining all along in logs created using radeon and nouveau drivers.
Since your reply, Rawhide's driver moved from v2.99.917-1 to v2.99.917-2, and
the string returned to the logs.

 2-EDID preferred absent from Xorg.0.log

That's not used by any -intel.

I see First detailed timing is preferred mode in logs generated using
radeon and nouveau, and those generated using intel thru v2.20.19 and in
v2.99.917-2, so absence from logs generated in the interim using intel makes
me wonder why. Maybe only Xorg rather than driver is what uses it, but the
difference when looking at files only from the interim period when they were
absent made this the more logical place to ask.

3-EDID preferred is not used by Xorg

 Indeed.

So if -intel does not and Xorg does not, what does?

4-video= on cmdline if present and valid is used by Xorg instead of EDID
 preferred

 Xorg inherits the current mode.

This is a primary reason for the OP, a distinctly different behavior from
using radeon and nouveau. I can understand the logic in it, but will be
bothered by it as long as the difference among drivers remains, and would
really rather it never happen that the others change to do the same as what
intel started doing . It's a long tradition that the kernel cmdline options
affecting framebuffer vtys (vga= pre-KMS, video= using KMS) not be inherited
by Xorg. Those have quickly and easily at boot time enabled the vty rows and
columns to be indirectly adjusted to provide a comfortable text size without
impacting the much more elaborately configured X desktops. Current intel
behavior requires an additional Xorg 'Section Device' option to get the
configured DisplaySize onto the default output in place of the automagic that
worked not so long ago in intel, and still can in radeon and nouveau.

Distros using systemd typically configure ttys to be on demand. Others do

Re: [Intel-gfx] Eyestrain problems with new Intel drivers

I have the same problem as the one described by Michael bellow: the
Intel Graphic card produces eye strain and headache after some minutes
of using it. I found a lot of people complaining on the same problem,
but no solution. I tried lowering the resolution, increasing the PWM
frequency, but without luck. I also installed an old version of intel
drivers (2.20.12), because the subject of this email was with **new**
Intel drivers, but it didn't help.

I have a new HP Folio 9470m, with the Intel HD 4000 graphic card, and
I cannot use it. Even when connecting an external monitor, I have the
same problem. When I connect my old laptop, with an nvidia card, to
the same monitor, the eyestrain disapear, so it must be the Intel
card, or its driver.

I will be glad to provide any information you consider relevant. I can
do whatever test you want, but please, do not ignore this message. I
am not the only one to have this problem:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Eye+strain+Intel+graphic

I am on (Arch) Linux, but I saw some reports on Windows too.

What is output from 'lspci | grep VGA'?
Exactly what model is your external display?
Does disabling compositing help?
Is it better if you boot a Live Linux media from a year or two or three ago,
e.g. Knoppix 7.0.5 or openSUSE 12.3 or Mageia 2 or Fedora 18?

[Intel-gfx] where are docs for VIRTUAL?

2014-02-28 Thread Felix Miata
I see VIRTUAL1 disconnected in Xorg.0.log, several bugs filed at
freedesktop.org, an announcement of 2.99.901 at
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2013-September/055988.html and
Google hits on cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel containing
strings intel-virtual-output and/or intel-virtual-overlay, but after hours
trying I don't seem to be able to spot any documentation about what *exactly*
intel-virtual-output is or is supposed to be capable of. intel-virtual-output
in 1.15.0 and 2.99.910 on openSUSE 13.2 produces command not found.
Conspicuously absent from searching opensuse.org are both
intel-virtual-output and VIRTUAL1.

1-where are the docs?

2-can it replace the missing release fix for
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39949

3-if yes, is it supported on i865/i915/i945 hardware?

Again I got no clear answer to the question asked, so I guess now it's fair
to assume this must be the right place for discussion after all.

I've installed openSUSE 12.3. Its 3.7.10-1.16-default and server 1.13.2
behave nicely. Beyond installing Mageia 3 to get 3.8.13 and 1.13.4, and as
one who does not build software even via proxy, I'm open to suggestions how
to get kernels and/or other xorg versions needed to perform bisection.

This problem is differently present with Mageia 3's desktop kernel 3.8.13.4.
The ttys are left usable on startx exit, but the exit log X prints to screen
is scrambled from mismatch between character size and line length. I don't
know whether to try older kernels, or newer, even if I knew where to find any.

[Intel-gfx] i810 forgets configured rows columns on ttys on startx shutdown

2013-10-29 Thread Felix Miata
Embedded Dell motherboard/video BIOS has very limited VESA support!!!
(F00:80x25=VGA, F01:80x50=VGA, F02:80x43=VGA, F03:80x28=VGA, F05:80x30=VGA,
F07:80x60=VGA, 309:132x25=VESA, 30A:132x43=VESA, 30B:132x50=VESA,
30C:132x60=VESA, (8)120:132x25=BIOS, (8)121:132x43=BIOS, (8)122:132x50=BIOS,
(8)123:132x60=BIOS)

Pre-KMS it used to be that common vga= modes were useless, so I took to using
0x121 to escape from 80x25 screens. Using 0x8121 required specifying an
appropriate font via config file. Even after KMS began, vga=0x8121 continued
to work, and still does at least through kernel 3.4.47.

Now with kernel 3.11.x (openSUSE 13.1) and 3.12.rc6 (Mageia 4):

boot: ttys OK, whatever font, rows and columns kernel determines unless
specified otherwise on cmdline via vga=. video= and resolution= on cmdline
have no effect. Vga= still works too if font is correctly specified by config
file, but only for 0x12# BIOS modes.

After startx is started, before being stopped, ttys remain functional.

Once startx is stopped, ttys may or may not remain functional. Sometimes
after startx has been run exactly once since booting they continue to be
useful. Other times, the rows and columns are no longer remembered, switching
to fonts appropriate to an 80x25 screen, but outputting more than 80 columns
and 25 rows, scrambling the output in part via line breaks absent when needed
at column 80.

This is still pre-kms, there's no kms driver for i810 chipsets. So
whatever bug there is might be just bad luck or the userspace X driver
not restoring stuff correctly. But I'm pretty sure it's not a kernel
bug, at least no in the i810 driver.

I was hoping for a (what appears to be a not our bug) response that was
more helpful WRT whose bug it likely is. To me it's clearly a bug report that
either can be found or needs to be made at bugs.freedesktop.org, but in what
component? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=xorg
has a long list, among which there is only one that includes the string
intel, Driver/intel, which is what this list seems to be about. Does it look
like Server/General, Server/DDX/Xorg, or something else? As it manifest in
more than one distro, it surely isn't likely to be downstream.

Turns out configuring a screen section in the old pre-KMS format enumerating
desired/selectable modes solves the problem, even enabling virtal (aka KMS
panning). However on exit from the X session back to the ttys, the default
mode set on boot (neither vga= nor video= on {Grub Legacy} cmdline), or one
that was set via vga= (video= is ignored), may or may not restored. When not,
the ttys are left unusable from mismatch between font used and (no longer
correct) rows/columns. Apparently the first X session following boot exits
OK, but not a second.

box is used only for seeking out and reporting regressions such as this. I'm
puzzled how I missed this for so long, although part of why is probably
attributable to loss of sysvinit causing me to have skipped over the openSUSE
12.3 development process with this machine. It's plenty slow, a 1GHz
Coppermine with PC100 RAM, so I don't boot it much.

Did Adam already fix this? Will you be including this among your next
submits? Do I need to file a bug first?

vttys are stable only as long as X never started, regardless whether
video= and/or vga= are present on cmdline. Only way I've found so
far to make them work reliably again once X is started is to reboot.
With various combinations of X running or not and video= and/or vga=
used, vttys get scrambled in various ways (font mismatched to row
and/or column counts of active mode).
While X is running but a vtty is active, X/KDE3 may abort spontaneously.

That sounds like the dangers inherent in UMS.

The whole paragraph? The last line only? Suggestions how to cope? I'm not
including nomodeset on any of my cmdlines. AFAIK, only my MGA systems are not
using KMS.

The biggest change here is the loss of XAA in Xorg.

This too says nothing I understand. Referring to XAA or EXA or the like has
no meaning to me. I'm not a programmer. I just test what others package, and
get frustrated by comments like this one:

You have reported the bug, I've sent the patch onwards. It would be most
useful if you could test it, but I'm optimistic that Adam would be able
to review it without.

I am suggesting that there is a large known change in behaviour with
recent Xservers which is very likely to impact upon you. I am sorry you
find our requests for feedback frustrating, we too find it frustrating
not to be in a position to test ideas and fixes ourselves, and very much
rely on your good selves to both report issues and help us diagnose them.

The frustration is not the comment itself, but the obstacle in needing to
build a binary to be able to test the efficacy of the patch. Might having a
Gentoo installation facilitate such tests by non-programmers like me who
normally use a dpkg or rpm distro and don't how to use developer tools?

I've been exaggerating a bit, I must confess... But, to keep things
straight, I really did multihead setup using xrandr in a startup script.

You think mere mortals are going to find startup scripts, not to mention
xrandr, easier to figure out than config files? Plus, in my experience, there
are far too many different script file names and locations among various
distros than X config files and locations. Not to say .config file setup is
easy, because it's not, but to me they're the lesser evil.

[Intel-gfx] vsync on ttys with KMS

2011-03-30 Thread Felix Miata
I run all my displays, LCD or not, at 60 vertical refresh. Flicker is a
non-issue for these old eyes. Is there a way to force the kernel to use 60,
or find out what is being used? On the p275 Trinitron I'm using right now, I
doubt fc15's 2.6.38.2 is running 60, as the output is shifted so far left
that at least 1/2 of output is hidden from view, and I don't want to be
playing with the (hard to use) manual centering controls any more, risking
running the display out of settings storage and FIFOing away previous
settings I'll be using again.

What does worse mean? Most people who see worse are actually complaining
about fonts, and in most cases even then they don't define what is worse
about the fonts. Can you upload screenshots of both so people can see what
worse means?

That said, Fedora sets some system wide variables that affect X
quality/behavior in /etc/X11/Xresources:

Xft.dpi
Xft.hintstyle
Xft.hinting

openSUSE doesn't do that. If you comment those away in Fedora, or match the
Xft.dpi number to your LCD's actual DPI, you may find the difference is
reduced or disappears, particularly if actual DPI varies more than nominally
from the Xft.dpi setting. OTOH, they may produce little or no improvement if
you've set your DTE to force DPI or tweaked its font smoothing settings.

If you need to comment further, also specify which DTE you use, as that can
matter as well in future responses.

As long as I still want to use Fedora on my laptop I would like to ask -
can picture quality be spoiled by different PCI configuration?

I highly doubt it, other than if it's wrong there's no picture to assess the
quality of.

With the move of xf86-video-intel 2.10.0 to extra, support for UMS has
been removed from the intel driver. This means that KMS is a
 requirement now.

Does this mean that there's no way to override incorrect (or in my
case) missing EDID info? I am assuming so,
which is why I am asking about quirks. Thanks in advance,

 So...

Given the lack of a response, I am guessing this means the drivers don't
support this capability. Is there a reason for limiting user capabilities?
Removing users ability to work around hardware issues just seems like the
wrong way to go. At least in my humble opinion.

I'm not implying what you're asking for is unreasonable or too much to ask,
but have you tried Meego's vesa or fbdev drivers with KMS disabled? If those
don't cut it for you, maybe you just need to wait a while longer for the
Intel devs to replace more of what got discarded when UMS got dumped from its
driver. Maybe you need to file an xorg bug to help that along.

What was on the laptop when you bought it? You'd think the vendor would have
shipped something works with its hardware. I can't tell from

I know nothing about Meego other than that you are using it. :-p

X seems to be started from 3 files in /etc/X11/xinitrc (xinitrc,
 xinitrc-common, and Xclients)

It worked for me in openSUSE 11.3 adding everything in xinitrc near the end,
right before the actual window manager startup commands. An alternative that
worked for me was using ~/.xinitrc and leaving /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc untouched.

I opted to add the lines to xinitrc thus:
...
 xrandr --newmode 840x480_60.00 31.25 840 864 944 1048 480 483 493 500

...

Where I have it placed now doesn't work (after removing my edited xorg.conf,
 I get
the original resolution back). So I must not understand where it should be
 placed.
 Could you enlighten me, *pretty please*  :}

I did more experimenting. It worked for me with no xorg.conf, modifying
nothing in /etc/X11/xinit, and putting what used to work in the monitor
section of xorg.conf into /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-monitor.conf.

worked for me to get 1600x1200 instead of the 1024x768 default, but you may
need to add the above xrandr data as a Modeline in order to get your 800x480.

Re: [Intel-gfx] 845 help

2010-08-05 Thread Felix Miata
On 2010/08/01 20:49 (GMT+0200) Rüdiger Härtel composed:

I have a 845GL graphics chip and the driver reports nearly every time I use
 my
copmuter that the GPU has hung up and acceleration is disabled. After this
happend a restart of X - which happens when I log off and on again - is not
 possible anymore.

Is there any information I can provide to help finding the circumstances
 that
 lead to this behaviour?

 My system:
 http://www.smolts.org/show?uuid=pub_663f9f31-d4fc-4845-8d9b-04636d8df99d

I have two 11.3 845G/GL rev01 systems, one from Dell/Foxconn, the other from
Intel. On the latter, I just did startx/end (KDE4) session more than 20 times
trying (with panning) to get vertical and horizontal DPI to match (instead of
121X120).
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc:
http://fm.no-ip.com/Tmp/Linux/Xorg/xinitrc-113-t2240-1600x1200v1920
/etc/X11/xorg.conf:
http://fm.no-ip.com/Tmp/Linux/Xorg/xorg.conf.0e-113-t2240-1600x1200v1920
~/.xinitrc:
http://fm.no-ip.com/Tmp/Linux/Xorg/dotxinitrc-113-t2240-845G-1600x1200v1920-120x120

On the other, repeated startx/killall startkde3 seems to be no problem
either, with no ~/.xinitrc, stock /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc and this xorg.conf:
