*The Software Deployment Engineer will build, release and deploy
applications in a fast-paced, web-based application environment. The
Software Deployment Engineer will assist in development, production
application support and will lead existing build and release processes.*



*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:*

·Builds and deploys Web Applications in a clustered and load
balanced N-Tier infrastructure into staging and production environments.

·Assists in diagnosing and solving production issues.

·Provides guidance to ensure that deployment plans follow best
practices and avoid pitfalls to ensure successful deployment.

·Responsible for software configuration management (SCM) and
software source control systems.

·Monitors application and server status in support of software
deployments.



*Skill set *

·Good working knowledge and understanding of software development
technologies (Java/J2EE, HTML)

·Strong Unix skills. Shell scripting is must.

·Working experiences with tools like WinSCP and Putty

·Knowledge on Internet/File protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP etc.

·Knowledge of SVN, Clearcase or other major version control tools

·Experience in Ant and Maven build technologies

·Hands on application deployment experience

·Working knowledge of Networking and network topologies such as
routers, firewalls

·Knowledge of Oracle and SQL, able to write complex queries.

·Working knowledge on Apache (mod_jk, Load balancers and SSL)

·Working experience with JBoss application server such as setting
up the cluster environment.

·Ability to work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams

·Hands on Java coding experience is important

·Experience with continuous Integration tools such as Hudson or
Jenkins.

-Team/Company:

Need an analyst with Release Automation experience. Understanding of an end
to end process, strong verbal  written communication,

excellent presentation skills required.

As a Build/Release Engineer, you will play a key role in our release
process by improving the build, deployment, and release infrastructure. We
are looking for

a trusted resource who can create solutions, advocate release standards,
and enforce quality build processes for successful code deployments. We
need a team player who can work cross functionally with Development, QA and
Operations to successfully push software from development to production
deployment. You will use your experience to increase productivity as well
as research, design and implement solutions that make our development
process state of the art.

Our ideal candidate thrives in demanding environments while remaining
pragmatic and results focused.

*Primary Responsibilities*

• Support and improve our tools for continuous build, automated testing,
and release management

• Work closely with QA, Product Management and Development teams to
identify, prioritize, and drive issues to resolution quickly

• Improve the effectiveness of our build and release cycle through the
development, tracking, and reporting of metrics

• Own, manage, and improve our release process with a focus on scale and
efficiency

• Understand tools needed during release pushes

• Experience with various Dev Ops tools for Source Code Management,
Deployment, Release Management and Artifact Repository .


*Requirements*

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

• Experience building Java applications

• 5+ years experience with software engineering, release engineering,
and/or configuration management

• Strong understanding of source code version control systems, Git
experience highly desired

• Experience with infrastructure automation/configuration management tools
(familiarity with Puppet a plus)

• Expertise with a variety of build, release, and management packages (i.e.
GIT, Ant and Maven)

• Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux, with some Windows and Mac experience

• Strong scripting ability with one or more languages (python, ruby, bash,
perl, etc.)

• Expertise with build automation tools such as Jenkins

• Team player and tenacious problem solver with a strong commitment to
customer service

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
