*JOB DESCIPTION*



*Job Purpose*

Under the direction of Information Technology Management, this position
will be responsible for designing ETL components related to projects and/or
functional enhancements.  This person will provide technical leadership
which include, designing and data modeling the most efficient ETL
solutions, partnering with other IT Architecture roles to define those
solutions, and articulating those solutions to the development staff for
delivery.  An important role this person needs to play is the ability to
understand the scope of a project, create long term, solid, ETL solutions,
while keeping in mind the bigger picture.



1.   Collaborate with Information Technology Architects to understand
information, data, and technology standards. Ensure alignment of enterprise
standards with internal ETL architecture and designs.

2.   Ability to perform Data Modeling (Dimensional/Operational) within
Erwin, assist with defining standards and assure adherence to standards.

3.   Continuously evolve understanding of where the overall enterprise
data strategy is going.

4.   Create/Evolve internal teams ETL architecture and designs
standards by partnering with other peer ETL designers

5.   Design enterprise reusable ETL components to improve design &
coding efficiencies.

6.   Define/Create ETL design solutions which would include supporting
artifacts and design deliverables depending on technology.  Define ETL
flows, transformation rules and framework to support ETL development.

7.   Ability to lead a team of developers to drive to a solution.

8.   Lead advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution functions for
ETL/Data issues.

9.   Make recommendations on increasing scalability and robustness of
ETL platforms and solutions.

10.   Mentor/Coach less experienced staff.

11.   Ability to provide level of effort estimate for the entire ETL
strategy as it pertains to a given project.

12.   Accountable for the overall delivery and success designed solutions.

13.   Collaborate with others across the IT organization to understand all
aspects of the project with the goal to drive a collective robust solution.

14.   Build collaborative relationships with business customers to
understand their goals, needs, and objectives and use as input to the
overall ETL architecture and design.

15.   Ability to articulate complex solutions in an easy to understand
fashion.

16.   Ability to articulate all needed activities to assigned project
manager/leader on any given project and track actual work back to given
estimates.



*Job Responsibilities*

75% - Data Model, Design and Architect ETL BIDW internal solutions which
would include standard delivery artifacts based on technology.  Partner
with Information Technology Architects and others across the organization
to create a solid, long term supportable solution.  Lead a team of
developers to execute and drive designed solution towards completion on
time and within budget.  Continuous communication back to assigned leaders
on status and progress of teams activities.  Ability to lead and drive work
activities that have interdependencies with other teams and drive
resolution on any of issues related to your work activity.  Overall
accountability for ensuring the successful delivery of designed solution,
small or large.



15% - Provide level of effort estimates for any work activities as it
relates to functional enhancements or projects.   Continue to build system
knowledge not just within our team but across the organization with the
goal of building a better understanding on how data assets should be
designed and architected.  Continuous partnership with the Enterprise
Architecture team to understand the strategy, future technical direction,
and enterprise tool standards our team should leverage.  Continued
partnership with business to understand their requirements and translate
those into long term supportable solutions.  Continue to understand Data
Office to understand their future vision to incorporate into built
solutions.



10% - Focus on continuous education, process and architectural improvements
as it relates to day to day activity or when designing solutions. Continue
education on new technologies or existing technologies with the goal of
looking for streamline opportunities.





*Required Skills*

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information
Systems, or Data are preferred or equivalent work experience.

· 8+ years progressive experience in architecture/ system
design/data analysis related to ETL, data management, data integration and
data delivery work.

· 8+ ETL experience using one or more of the following
tools/database platforms

o   Informatica Power Center version 9.6 or higher

o   SSIS SQL Server
