* The client is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, experienced BIOS
engineer to develop open source platform BIOS solutions for AMD’s cutting
edge server products. The position entails architecting, coding, debugging,
and documenting platform BIOS features in an Open Source based UEFI
codebase (Tianocore). *

*A successful candidate will employ solid software methodologies, firmware
design expertise, deep technical knowledge, and well-honed organizational
skills across multiple teams to ensure on-schedule, defect-free system
firmware product development. A candidate must possess the technical
proficiency and interpersonal confidence to technically clearly represent
design ideas, complex problem descriptions and innovative solutions with
other developers as well as non-firmware focused silicon teams. *




*Skills: *

*• In-depth UEFI BIOS development mandatory *

*• C and ASM programming experience mandatory *

*• Strong debug methodology and skills mandatory *

*• Experience in x86 architecture mandatory *

*• Experience with Tianocore a plus *

*• Experience in ARM firmware a plus *

*• Knowledge of server hardware interfaces (10G/1G Ethernet, SATA, AHCI,
DDR3, PCIe Gen1/Gen2, SPI, I2C) expected *

*• Intimate knowledge of software development process methodology expected *

*• Knowledge of industry standard initiatives such as (ACPI, SMBIOS, PCIe)
expected *

*• Strong analytical skills and debug methodology expected *



*Experience: *

*• BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE degree or higher *

*• 5 or more years of BIOS/firmware development required*

As a platform software engineer, you'll work with an experienced team of
engineers to develop BIOS and/or firmware/software for next generation IoT
and Rugged products to drive industry leading IP / feature development.
You'll apply skills and experience across the full cycle of software
development (specifications, reviews, development and review, debug and
validation) to enable features and capabilities of platforms in areas like
thermal, power management, security, manageability and manufacturability

*Responsibilities *
- Contribute to the development, review, analysis and implementation of
differentiating platform software features for next generation products
- Participate in product development in all stages from planning and design
to development and testing.
- Code/debug and guide others to code/debug flexible, scalable and complex
programs, using either written or verbal design specifications.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex
systems and software.
- Provides the review, analysis and closed-loop corrective action for
issues contributing to software defects and business process problems

- Presents accurate project status to senior leadership, at both a summary
and detailed level.

- Prepares technical documents used internally and externally to provide
both summary and detailed technical information other teams require to
complete projects and tasks



*Requirements *
- Undergraduate degree and 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in BIOS / firmware / embedded SW development with Low level
programming capabilities at the system/motherboard/device/chipset level
- Technical problem solving skills / debug capabilities using analyzers and
other HW tools to debug complex system SW issues
- Familiarity with higher level programming (apps / tools) and Agile
software development methodologies
- UEFI Programming expertise is strongly desired
- Experience working on embedded systems is a plus
- Expertise with Intel / AMD system architectures
- Experience working with Industry forums for spec development like UEFI,
DMTF, PCI Sig, ACPI, etc
- Ability to take ideas from concept phase to delivery. This includes
creating design docs, scoping design and requirements, detailed spec
creation, Proof of Concept design and implementation/productizing
