[iovisor-dev] bpftrace launched

2018-10-08 Thread Brendan Gregg
G'Day,

We've been working on wrapping up bpftrace for a while -- a high-level
tracer for eBPF -- and we've now made the private repo public:

https://github.com/iovisor/bpftrace

Thanks Alastair Robertson for creating and developing this, and thanks to
Willian Gaspar and Matheus Marchini for their recent contributions. And
thanks to everyone who has been building the kernel eBPF, libbcc, and
libbpf that bpftrace uses. Speaking of contributions, the bpftrace issue
list still has many minor things to do, and help is appreciated!

To learn bpftrace, there is a one-liners tutorial and a reference guide:

-
https://github.com/iovisor/bpftrace/blob/master/docs/tutorial_one_liners.md
- https://github.com/iovisor/bpftrace/blob/master/docs/reference_guide.md

Brendan
