[IRCA] 1260/1330
At about 5:30 PM PST on 02-03-10, 1260 was dominant with 60/s music instead of the usual ESPN from CFRN Edmonton .The only oldies here are out of Mcminnville,OR on KLYC but no positive ID since the songs were continuous. The Ed. station must have hung a left or right and did not come this way. Also,on 1330 at 6:30 PM I heard SS but have no clue from where.I doubt it was KWKW L.A. with sports as it did not sound like it. It might have been KLBS Los Banos,CA,with SS instead of Portugese.A third choice could be a changed format on a closer by station in WA.Hard to say since they don't ID until TOH or leave a clue like city name. Two new ones here for me.Bill in BC __ The new Internet Explorer® 8 - Faster, safer, easier. [IRCA] 1040 wandering het
Gentleman, thank you all for your monitoring & thoughts on this little enigma! I have not heard the het today (WED), either day or night. But I think Barry nailed it. WJTB near Cleveland fits what I've observed for signal strength (strong at night, weak during day -- I'm about 140 miles from their QTH) and direction. If they leave their carrier on at night, that's it. They sure could use some maintenance! Not only are they several hundred hertz off-frequency, but that random frequency drift is pretty entertaining. Guess they oughta replace that oscillator tube, or maybe try using something innovative like a crystal with it! Hi Colin, Some of the small ceramic filters from NTK and Murata have extra ground pins. I've seen them with three or four ground pins (connected in parallel internally, evidently), plus the usual I/O pins. I have a Murata catalog (PDF) that has specifications and pin-out diagrams of many ceramic filters. Not as good as yesterday, but not too bad.
