Re: [IRCA] KONA - Hawaii - TPs for early 25 Nov 2010
Colin, that would be interesting. According to the October PAL, V6AK may be possibly silent. They've been heard often in the past, but not sure more recently. Another alternative would also be Radio Samoa from Auckland, but don't know whether they're in darkness yet...Walt On Tue, Jan 25, 2011 at 8:25 AM, Colin Newell c...@islandnet.com wrote: 0815 UTC - UNID 1593Khz - Island music - very Marshall Islands sounding... faded out some within 5 minutes seemed to be in an island lang - patter between a DJ and a caller. [IRCA] hot times on the upper band right now
additional stuff...but it's fading fast now...603 w/talk, poor; only other low band was 774 w/ s/off chimes. 1332 had fair to good JJ talk, 1467 murky talk, 1494 murky mx, 1503 poor to fair w/JJ talk, 1521 caught the final few notes of NHK2 chimes mixing with mx from who knows where, 1575 of course, in addition to those caught earlier. [IRCA] ULR DX.........Nothing New @ SUNSET.....But a UNID on 1520 ...Any Ideas?????
Hi Guys: The band was pretty useless tonight at SUNSET and I was almost ready to give up and go for supper when I found something interesting on 1520 Khz. In WWKB, Buffalo's , Null, I was hearing a Station oriented south playing Urban Contemporary/RB Music. Then it appeared to be playing Black Gospel Music. However at times I was hearing BOTH RB and GOSPEL.so it was obviously 2 Stations swapping out...Both from the south. At Times WWKB took them both out, at other times each took a turn at being on top. The RB Station I think may be WARR Warrenton, NC with 5 KW Days with Critical Hours authorization of 1 KW. That would be a RELOG for me... The Black Gospel I think is most likely WINW Canton, OHIO with 1 KW Days..That would be NEW if them!!! No ID heard on the hour and both stations seemed to continue on after 1800 EST This will need more work ...Maybe if I try there later this week at Sunset I can squeeze and ID outta them??? RADIO USED.SONY SRF-T615 ULR Barefoot ULR LOG TOTALS are now...886 Stations Heard ^^^ 73ROB VA3SW Robert S. Ross London, Ontario CANADA ** 1520 UNID 2 Stations Oriented SOUTH Jan/25/11 1735-1800 + ESTEE FAIR 2 Stations mixing it up in WWKB's Null. One with Urban Contemporary RB Music and the other with Black Gospel. At 1748 EST a Female said something that sounded like Music Cash in a Flash???. Don't know if that means anything to anyone??? Both stations seemed to carry on after 1800 EST. Canton WINW should have gone off the air by then I figure?? WARR has Critical hours Authorization. Not sure who was who here...but I do need WINW for a NEW STATION...so will have to keep on this one later in the week!! UNID NO IDEA!!! Re: [IRCA] hot times on the upper band right now
Hmmm, wasn't the case here in southern Alberta either. The lower band Japanese were better than they've been for several days, but nothing exciting on the upper part of the dial. Must have been a Victoria phenomenon! 73, Nigel Colin Newell wrote: I was up at 5:45AM Kona time.
