Having seen a report showing good results from Mexico at 1100 UTC (0700

Up until 1400UT, you could send in a similar report from the coast
Bill. So far as I know the antennas haven't fallen down, but
conditions sure have (the indices look OK though. Must be the
mid-October anomaly, similar to the mid-September anomaly, I
guess?). Just beginning to get traces of FF talk on 738 at 1405UT.

best wishes,

Nick

It was another disappointing morning for TP DX here. I had expected to hear a

Good DX.

[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-19

2012-10-19 Thread d1028gary

Hello All,

As Bill, Dennis and Nick have already reported, it was not one of the season's
better Asiatic DX mornings. With the exception of the persistent (and seemingly
aurora-immune) 1575-VOA at a poor level there was no Asiatic audio at all this
morning, and even no Asiatic carriers from anywhere except Thailand.
738-Tahiti produced the only decent audio from anywhere across the Pacific this
morning, showing up with fair French OM speech around 1402. The 738 kHz French
audio was in and out through most of the morning session (at a better level
than yesterday), but here in this DU-dead zone there was no trace of any
Australian or NZ carriers. Hopefully these dreary days are simply the
mid-October anomaly (like Nick says), and not an indication that this year's
modest Fall Season is already on the skids.

738 Radio Polynesie Mahina, Tahiti Fair French OM speech (apparent
news) after 1400 TOH; signal in and out throughout session
http://www.mediafire.com/?groti1h3ad1lnh4
1575 VOA Ban Rassom, Thailand Poor Asiatic YL speech rising above
noise level occasionally around 1350

Nice clip from Guatemala Bill! This is a country I would like to add but
I would hardly count on 1570 because of CJLV.

You also had great signals from Brazil. On my Saturday night (13th)

course, my first Ecuadorian on 750 :-)

Worth mentioning your Argentinean, congrats!

[IRCA] KFNX 1100 AZ logged in IL tonight

2012-10-19 Thread neilkaz
When playing back my 2200 CDT Perseus recordings tonight, I noticed a very deep
null/fade from WTAM..ie this super pest was gone for a while. Usually this
would mean that any English is from WZFG once Grand Junction and Vegas switch
to night rigs, but not this time !! as your listening to Independant
Talk...KFNX Cave Creek-Phoenix. Could they have been on day power? Regardless,
their pattern puts little signal to their ENE towards me.

CX to AZ seem good as Disney is often owning 1580 with a nice AM and AM-HD
(puke) ID at 2158 CDT.

I don't know what their track record is these days, although they're under
the same ownership.
But when I was in Phoenix till late summer 2006, KFNX often didn't cut
power.
Signal level was noticeably down atnight when they changed properly.

Subject: [IRCA] KFNX 1100 AZ logged in IL tonight

When playing back my 2200 CDT Perseus recordings tonight, I noticed a very
deep null/fade from WTAM..ie this super pest was gone for a while. Usually
this would mean that any English is from WZFG once Grand Junction and Vegas
switch to night rigs, but not this time !! as your listening to Independant
Talk...KFNX Cave Creek-Phoenix. Could they have been on day power?
Regardless, their pattern puts little signal to their ENE towards me.

CX to AZ seem good as Disney is often owning 1580 with a nice AM and AM-HD
(puke) ID at 2158 CDT.

73 KAZ Barrington IL.. Perseus and Double KAZ antenna 21 ft x 113 ft aimed
west.
