Re: [IRCA] Oklahoma TP DX 9/24/13
Richard, TP signals were seriously down here on the west coast this morning, but there were a few die-hard Asian signals that still snuck through with fair to good audio. Only about half of the typical big guns (594, 747, 828 and 972) made it to this level, along with die-hard Koreans on 603 and 657. 774-JOUB is on a tough frequency here, with a Seattle semi-local on 770 usually plastering the frequency. Have a nice day. 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) -Original Message- From: richarda richa...@perryisp.net To: irca irca@hard-core-dx.com; ultralightdx ultraligh...@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tue, Sep 24, 2013 7:17 am Subject: [IRCA] Oklahoma TP DX 9/24/13 Only one TP Signal was heard here this morning. 774 JOUB was heard briefly. Hello All, Asian signals took a major dive this morning compared to yesterday, with even several of the big guns struggling to reach decent audio. Re: [IRCA] KWAK 1240 verie
Hello, Not a DX test, but I have a KWAK 1240 verie from a frequency check, dated 11 April 1959 signed by Scooter Segraves, Sound Stage 124 The letterhead is a duck wearing a tux and bowtie, and quacking (kwakking?) into a 77DX type mic on a floorstand, holding it crooner style. The freq check was done on Tuesdays 0145-0200 CST and the station operated 0530-2200 localtime. I heard the freq check in New Jersey, I think just once. This must have been a schoolday no less...maybe I flunked History to stay up for this check...who knows? I was in 11th grade then. Scooter was a well known and regarded NRC'er. Thanks, Paul. Had I read my brand new NRC log more carefully I would have caught this. Thing just arrives a few days ago, and it's looking very good. Just nabbed my first two TAs of the fall season, Brits on 1089 and 909 with weak but audible signals. Clarksville TN on 540, relog. Nothing hugely interesting. Off to FM or sleep... [IRCA] TA carriers WCNA
In spite of this morning's poor Asiatic showing there are TA carriers again in Victoria this evening, such as 1215, 855, 945, 1422. The odd one is 891 showing a definite fading pattern, and drifting back and forth between 890.991 and .992 roughly. best wishes, Nick ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

I'm getting wispy carriers in Seattle on 864 909 945 1107 1206 and 1215 at 0428. All just a few db above the noise floor, with no hope of audio at the moment.
