Re: [IRCA] 1670 CJEU - Radio Jeunesse ???
I hear an ID as radio Jeunesse at about :22 of the clip. It's definitely French, accent sounds somewhat Quebecois, and the music matches what the station typically airs. From your location - very nice catch! Saul Chernos Burnt River ON From: ve...@shaw.ca To: irca@hard-core-dx.com Date: Sun, 30 Nov 2014 17:55:23 -0800 Subject: [IRCA] 1670 CJEU - Radio Jeunesse ??? This popped-up briefly at sunset the other night...I wonder if those fluent in French might take a listen to this and see if I have it correct? It sounds as though the TOH (59:53) starts with 'Radio Jeunesse' but it's too fast for me. I turned up the audio more on the second pass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hEI7LreJDg As a Canadian, I'm embarassed to admit that my French fluency is non-existant as I elected to take Spanish in high school, thinking that it would help me with the South Americans I was working on 10m AM in the early 60's...which, surprisingly enough, it did. Saul...thank you very much for the ident. I think it's pretty much the only French language station on 1670 but I was surprised to catch it at 1kW with the sky not yet completely dark. [IRCA] Alberta TPs for 1 December 2014
December began with a morning better than most I had in November, as some signs of TP life were noted. 1575 VOA and 1566 Korea both had fair audio after 1405 or so, and traces of audio were noted on 1557 (presumably Taiwan) and 1422 around 1435 UTC.A decent number of carriers too, especially above about 1250 khz. 1296 was interesting as two carriers were noted, not too far from audio, one on channel, and the other about 30 Hz high. 73, Nigel Pimblett Dunmore, Alberta ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Thank you Sylvain! Doubly-confirmed! What great ears you have :-)) Steve, there is indeed a Radio Jeunesse mention. Actually, it says: ... La Radio Jeunesse est fière de vous présenter une capsule qui couvre son organisme (which means: ... Radio Jeunesse is proud to present a short report about its organization). [IRCA] TP 1 Dec Victoria version
Mostly back in the bucket this morning, with a touch of sunrise enhancement now and then. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): fun while it lasted Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 594 JOAK man and woman in JJ 1518UT 774 JOUB woman in JJ 1440UT, but also during the s/off anthem and chimes 1540-45UT; this was the most consistent DX this morning. not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: 738 Tahiti, woman in FF 1442UT 747 JOIB s/off anthem and chimes 1540UT; best signal all morning pretty much Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) 828 JOBB s/off anthem and chimes 1540UT Strongish het, no or near imaginary audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) 891 954 1557 1566 best wishes, Nick ___ ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
