On the dull side would describe things adequately, though 954 was an odd
addition to a thin field.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

no

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling with splash or noise):

594 JOAK 1451UT

612 4QR man and woman in DU English 1443UT

954 JOKR two men in Japanese peaking briefly 1447UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could
be understood by a native speaker:

972 HLCA man in Korean 1411UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

774 JOUB //828 man sounding Japanese 1455UT

828 JOBB as above

828 woman singing comical sounding song faded over apparent JOBB at 1436UT 3GI?
no parallel

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged
by splatter)

747 1575  seemed to be Asian;

594 702 891 1017seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick

Haven't seriously been chasing MW DX for some time now due to a lot of
reasons. Last night I sat down and gave it a shot. Got one new station.

WYMC 1430 1 KW Mayfield KY 2237 to 2300 EST mixing with a lot of
others - only one that was coming up out of the jumble. ID by programming.
High School Basket Ball game. Announce very happy when ever Mayfield
scored. Logged it at 2.

SDRIQ and SDRConsole V3 with DX Engineering 43 foot vertical for HAM
Station

Other rigs: IC-7600, IC-7410, ICF-2010, RF-2200, RF 2600, Tecsun
380, Lafayette HW-30, Halicrafters s-38 B, National NC-109 (under repair)

Other Ants. 160 meter dipole, 80 meter dipole, 15 foot ground

[IRCA] AOR AR 7030

For anyone interested, there are two listed on eBay at the moment with quite
reasonable prices.

A pretty decent receiver for those who still enjoy the tactile experience.

[IRCA] 1120 KCRN Limon, CO

2019-03-02 Thread Paul B. Walker, Jr.
They may have pre sunrise authority but that limits them to a max of 500
watts. I have a dead carrier on 1120 this morning at 625am mtn, which is 20
mintues before 645am sunrise for KCRNM according to the FCC. I had them on
the air Friday morning which programming just after 6am.

And yes, they are still ID'ing as KLIM

[IRCA] KSLL 1080 Price UT on early/late...

2019-03-02 Thread Paul B. Walker, Jr.
It would appear 5KW non directional Daytimer KSLL 1080 Price, UT didn’t
sign off at sunset Friday March 1st. I matched the country music I’m
hearing on 1080 to their webstream. This is the first time I’ve caught
them on early(late?) and I can usually hear them then they come on after
sunrise. I’m about 350 miles away in Laramie, WY
