[IRCA] 1575 daytime carrier
A very wispy carrier on 1575 being heard on Gabriola Island at 2025UTC (local noon is 2000UT). Pretty much imaginarily audible carrier (but very visible in Spectran) on 1539, plus a visible only carrier on 1503. I wonder what Don Moman is hearing today? best wishes, Nick ** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Nick Nothing noted in Seattle either, but you're undoubtedly in a much quieter location. I try to watch the freq later. On 1/15/2012 13:48, Walter Salmaniw wrote: Nothing at all in Victoria, Nick. [IRCA] 1575 daytime carrier
I suspect the success here is due to a 340 degree Flag pointing up the Strait of Georgia a couple of hundred meters away, Don. At 2220UT audible carriers were on 1503, 1512, 1539, 1548 and 1575, though 1575 was down in strength from earlier. In the extreme minimalist DXing category, a carrier was noted on 1476, that switched off suddenly at 2050UT; Dubai is supposed to sign off at 2045UT. Dream on. Watch all this fade out by sunset...it's certainly faded down by 2315UT. Nick At 22:00 15-01-12, Don Moman wrote: first trace 1575 noted here at 2158 Nick, but very weak...
