,Michael, I don't think R.Maria was playing Neil Young or The Doors as their
format is of the Religious variety so your finding of the splatter from C-ILS
was correct, but I am glad that the Dutch station is reaching the west coast and
wish I had the capability to get them or any Dutch station myself but I don't
have the time or the equipment to capture them for the few minutes that they
drop in.Bill in BC

Hi Bill,

TA reception here in western WA and western BC seems to be more
dependent upon excellent Trans-Arctic propagation than using the best
equipment,
although a good receiver and antenna certainly will improve your chances
of success.

The local Ultralight radio group has enjoyed several barefoot pocket
radio receptions of stations like 1134-Croatia (before the schedule change)
and 1215-Absolute in previous years, shortly after hometown buddy Guy
Atkins' First West Coast ULR-TA reception of 1575-Radio Farda on a $25 Sony
SRF-39FP Prison Radio in Grayland during a November 2008 DXpedition. When
TA conditions are great in this local area, almost any decent portable can
receive a TA big gun.

[IRCA] 675 kHz NHK1 Japanese Synchros

2010-09-30 Thread D1028Gary
Hello All,

There was another bizarre fade-in during TP-DXing this morning here, and I
was wondering whether anyone else noticed it.

675-VOV was all alone on the frequency in Vietnamese with a fair signal at
1401 (with a YL apparently reading news) when the Hanoi signal took a
dive, mixing with a co-channel, and then fading out completely as it was
replaced by a Japanese-speaking YL reading the news at a fair level, // 594
kHz.
This all happened within 2 minutes, recorded in the MP3 at
_http://www.mediafire.com/?z6ss6c9873e7j4n_
(http://www.mediafire.com/?z6ss6c9873e7j4n)
(headphones recommended).

The 5 kw Japanese NHK1 synchros on 675 kHz seem to be common in Masset
(John B. reported them as almost daily visitors in the 2007 DXpedition), but
this was the first time they were ever heard here. This was received on the
9' PVC loop, for the 7th new TP logging of the new season.

[IRCA] 675?

2010-01-10 Thread Nick Hall-Patch
Does anyone hear anything other than R. Maria on 675? 675 can be pretty clear
hereand although things are very weak...heard man talking, quite faint, but
lining up with R. Maria web stream, then slow female vocal mx with some high
pitched notes...but there seemed to be another station there also, playing
light vocal pop mx, that had nothing to do with the R. Maria webstream.

best wishes,

Nick

Hi Nick,
On Dec 12 I heard Norway there, // with their web stream, and I'd think
that's likely what you were hearing.

[IRCA] 675 CC/VV?

2006-10-18 Thread vroomski
Nick,

Conditions are not that good here. Only 7 TPs with audio. Though 675 a weak
but steady audio was heard for about a minute with either CC or VV. One hour
of listening.
