Re: [IRCA] KUSA 980 Yamika, WA

2009-01-05 Thread HASCALL, DAVID CIV DFAS
Going off topic here, what about TV stations calling themselves
whatever they want (hello Scott Fybush?)?

For example, after conversion, there will be no (RF) channels above RF
channel 51. Example - my local Fox channel is 59 but the actual RF is
channel 45. It will still be known as channel 59 to viewers. Can a new
station call itself channel 92, if they wanted to?

Note that the calls on this are actually KBBO, with COL of Selah WA -
KUSA is just their slogan, confusingly enough, and the real KUSA is a
TV station in Denver.

Paul,

Your sure right about stations calling themselves anything they want.
I have been to quite a few radio station web-sites and can't even find the
call letters listed anywhere on the site. Just their Brand name or slogans
are listed.

Some syndicated programs it's impossible to find stations that carry their
programs. My favorite is Coast to Coast. They have a map of the USA,
just click on the state and that states CTC stations appear.

Hey Dennis:

Good going - I've never gotten them here due to their SW beam and CKNW's
resistance to phasing (I get both groundwave and skywave here...).
