Re: [IRCA] Motion Sensors for Security Lighting

2012-12-08 Thread Russ Edmunds
I had that problem at one time also. When I contacted the mfr., they readily
offered to upgrade the sensors for free. My sense is that these won't cause a
problem as long as I don't try to power a receiver on the same circuit.

Our garage door sensors were the culprit a couple of years ago. Our son rewired
them and that took care of that.

[IRCA] Motion Sensors for Security Lighting

2012-12-07 Thread Russ Edmunds
I'm wondering if these units may present a serious noise problem. My wife has
been pushing to replace the light sensors I've been using with motion
detectors. The light sensors don't generate any noticeable noise unless I put a
portable close to them, but they do come on when it's overcast or stormy, and
at this time of year run from about 4 pm to about 8 am.

So before I make a decision to spend the money for the units and installation,
I'm looking for any input. The units in question are RAB Stealth 360's. I'd
hate to spend several hundred dollars to make my AM/LW DX'ing even more
difficult.

Thanks-
