2009-10-19 Thread Nick Hall-Patch

NHK2's s/off seems to have moved back to 1600 at least. Presently (1603UT) ,
the music box is struggling with splatter on 747, 774 and 828

Yup,

Like I observed yesterday, 747//774//828 all just kept trucking at
1500. I quit at 1512, with 747 still going well, but the other two
were there with only poor audio.

2009-10-19 Thread vroomski

On my last visit to Grayland (10/09/09) I recorded the 1500 utc sign-off
of NHK2 on JOUB 774. On my next visit November 12-13 I will try to record
the 1540 utc sign off that Bruce stated. Why does NKH2 leave their
transmitters on long after they cut the programing?

2009-10-19 Thread Bruce Portzer
I went back and took another look at the NHK2 schedule. As it turns
out, 1540 is the start time for the last program of the day. After
checking the times for Oct 19-26, the correct signoff times are 1600 on
Friday-Monday, and 1550 on Wed Thur. Which matches the time Nick
reported. Sorry for the confusion, this time I looked at it through the
Babelfish translator instead of the original Japanese.

2009-10-19 Thread Bruce Portzer
Correction to the correction: 1600 s/off should be Friday-Tuesday, not
Friday-Monday. And, for the record, the hour they added between
midnight and 1 am is for high school lecture programs. Do they really
expect students to be up that late on school nights?

Heh, don't listen to me, Pete, listen to the experts:

And of course, that 1500UT s/off (NHK2) may still give you a chance

any call letter IDs then.
