Re: [IRCA] New CP for 1140 Aberdeen WA
I was thinking the same thing Paul. Any investment, people want a decent return on that. Building a new facility like this would be expensive. Now their other properties could be re-located there. But that are gets expensive. The CP alone is worth money, so it could be sold to someone else too. The big deal years ago about the new 50,000 watt facility for Warrenton OR, would be co-located with the old KAST location in Astoria. They have two sticks and was going to add 3 more, but with CG air station did not like that across the bay. Too much red tape to get involved with. 73, Patrick Patrick Martin Seaside OR KGED QSL Manager From: IRCA on behalf of Paul B. [IRCA] New CP for 1140 Aberdeen WA
Hi Everyone, Posted on another site is a new CP from an app for 1140 Aberdeen WA with 5/2.5 KW. ND Days and Directional NW at night. I would have guessed running 2 sticks at night they may co-locate with KWRO, as they are the only Directional AM in the market. But no, by checking the Lon/Lat the location is to the North at 46.58.19 N / 123.46.18 W. Looks like up the coast a bit. With 3 other AMs and several FMs, I wonder if they can make any money? Building a brand new facility is going to cost lots of $$$ and for an AM. Also I wonder if it will be built? 1570 Warrenton never was. Seems to me a lot of money for very little back. Aberdeen is not exactly a wealthy area. 73, Patrick Patrick Martin Seaside OR KGED QSL Manager ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
